This is NOT (to the best of my knowledge) a no-kill shelter, but they do hold onto adoptable dogs for a long time.
His page says he's a year old and he's not even lost all the black on his head yet, so he's definitely young.
Leptospirosis in PA/Training/Crate Issues-Help pleasantly requested :)tag:mycorgi.com,2012-09-14:1150197:Topic:16212352012-09-14T14:23:55.738ZJenny and Djangohttp://mycorgi.com/profile/JennyandDjango

I have been getting mixed messages about the Leptospirosis vaccine. I live in Eastern PA and my Vet reccomended it, but I have read that sometimes corgi's have had baaaad reactions to it. I would like to take django to the lake and such places where there are bacteria, which I read sometimes helps build the dog's tolerance and immunity. But I have also read that if your dog gets Lepto it can get really bad, and be passed to humans. Any advice?

Does anyone know of a good trainer near the Boyertown/Oley/Fleetwood/Reading/Pottstown area? I have researched PetSmart and the Allentown Dog Training Club as well as Cold Nose Lodge thusfar.

Django is now sleeping in his travel crate, which he can stand and turn around in comfortably. I would like to buy him a bigger crate but am not sure which size to get as the one on the petco site-which is now on sale pretty cheap-is pictured with a corgi but says up to 25 lbs. I just don't want it to be too small since the point is to give him more room, nor do I want it too big because of poo issues.

ALSO, I put a blanket down with him to sleep on that he had been laying on when I let him out to play in his room. Once transferred to the crate though, he pooed on it. When I took it out, no more accidents in the crate! I'm leary of adding anything soft for fear that he will either eat it or poo on it. I tried a piece of cut berber rug last night but he just focused on clawing at it and biting the edges even though he had his own toys in there. So, I removed it. Maybe once I get the metal crate this wont be an issue?

AND last but not least, the past 2 days I have taken Django out right after feeding, per usual. But he will only pee outside. Then after I bring him in and go upstairs to shower, I come down to find a big tootsie roll pretzel on my floor. I can crate him when I shower, I just prefer that he has that time to play before I have to crate him when I go to work. I have tried leaving a piece of his poo outside and walking him near it, but he hasn't gone. This wasn't an issue until 2 days ago, and the only difference I can see is that he has started eating frozen peas as a snack....HELP! :)

My faithful companion for 15 years crossed the rainbow bridge this past April and I am now ready for a new companion. Seems corgi puppies have become very expensive the past few years and $800+ is a little difficult for me to afford right now with college for my daughter just two years away. If anyone knows of any rescues, I would appreciate the referral. We live in Eastern PA so can get to many of the Eastern states easily. Seems corgi puppies have become very expensive the past few years and $800+ is a little difficult for me to afford right now with college for my daughter just two years away. If anyone knows of any rescues, I would appreciate the referral. We live in Eastern PA so can get to many of the Eastern states easily. My daughter hasn't had the puppy experience yet, Cocoa was a year old when we bought her from a show kennel and my daughter was only one year old so we really would enjoy a puppy this time around. I don't work right now, just taking on-line classes so I have lots of time for housebreaking and training. We live on 8 1/2 acres with two horses and 3 cats. My only daughter is 16 so no small children to worry about. Thanks so much for your help. Susie is wonderful breeder where we got out PWC on December 19th 2008.
We met her once before we picked up our pup and met the mother and the whole litter. We got to pick our own out of the litter as we interacted with them for about an hour.
she also breeds German Shepards- it's quite interesting to see the shepards bark and run around like they want to eat you, while the PWC's just relax…
She also is NOT DOCKING tails anymore. I know some of you want docked tails which are for appearance, but we love our pup's tail!
She has special terms for those pups who can be candidates for breeding- she will offer the dog for you to have for 2 years (still under her ownership) and then she breeds the pup, and then you own the dog thereafter.

Our dog has great temperment! she gets very excited to meet new faces- big and small people, and very good with other dogs!

she also does offer a health guarantee which includes 80% refund for hip displasia Lehigh Valley and Bucks County PAtag:mycorgi.com,2008-07-13:1150197:Topic:1449992008-07-13T18:31:18.702ZAnnehttp://mycorgi.com/profile/AnneGraves
I was wondering if there are more corgi owners out there in the Lehigh Valley and Upper Bucks County area of PA? We just got our girl this late winter and she loves to play with other corgis. Went to a round up in FL with my parents with their PWC and it was a lot of fun. Thought we might be able to start one in the area.
