So, our corgi Bella has always been very protective over our home and everyone in it, barking whenever the doorbell rings and when she hears an outside noise that's out of the ordinary. I understand corgis are barky dogs, but her barking and anxiety toward people coming over has worsened.

When the doorbell rings, immediately she is thrown into a barking fit and will not stop until the door is opened. I can tell this makes the visitor uncomfortable, especially young children. Not to mention after the door is opened she jumps and expects all their attention. My long time friend has recently told me her daughter no longer wants to come over because she thinks Bella is a mean dog, which she certainly isn't, she's just "overly friendly" as we like to call it.

My whole family and I are wanting to help coax Bella's behavior down, making her less noisy when the doorbell rings and less attention-seeking when guests enter. I suppose her guard dog attitude is simply a trait that cannot be changed, but I'm hoping to find some help in her anxiety toward the doorbell and jumping issue.

Thanks!
ahh what a great day to be a corgi!:)..tag:mycorgi.com,2010-02-26:1150197:Topic:6216942010-02-26T00:07:41.865ZRebecca Marie O'Bryanhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/rebeccamarieeschenburg

We would like to spend 2 full days there and have something to do for each day. We will have Midas with us and need dog friendly places. We found a hotel and the park will allow dogs but everywhere else that allows dogs is closed for the season. Please help!
Hey North Carolina corgi lovers! We're planning a road trip soon to the Raleigh area and we're thinking of bringing Stanley along. Anyone have any recommendations for dog friendly activities or resaturants in the area?

Here are the corgi mobiles we've had over the years:

Nissan Xterra - Too high for ours to jump on, the front seat is fine, but it's impossible for them to jump on in the back seat. Very nice cargo space, but muddy paws can be a problem.

Lexus ES300 - Leather get scratched up, the tan color interior does help to "hide" the fur, cargo space is a joke, cannot fit any wire crate in the trunk. Good height for the dogs to jump in.

Lexus SC300 - Rear seats are perfect for the dogs, no human should ever sit back there, it gets really really hot in Florida summer, right height, very heavy doors.

Toyota Matrix - Awesome plastic hatch area, wipes down easy, you can use a garden blower to blow out the fur, rear hatch glass open, wire crate fits in the back, plenty of cargo room, great on gas. nice height for the dogs.

Toyota Sienna - very roomy, can fit the doggies plus family and cargo. Not so good on gas but definitely ride in comfort for everyone, especially road trip.
(2) Along the way there (Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Lubbock, etc) and back (Phoenix, El Paso, etc): where's a good rest stop so we can all stretch our legs (human and corgi's), relieve ourselves, get some coffee/ breakfast/ lunch/ snack where it's dog-friendly?

Thanks in advance!
