Strange/odd/confusing "potty" rituals... does anyone else have a corgi or canine that can't seem to go to the bathroom normally?
Lemmy will not poop in one pile, he'll poop, stop, walk to a different spot, poop again, then sniff around a bit and poop somewhere else.... all in 5-10 minute period. Even on walks.... he's gotta poop, walk a few steps then poop again lol, maybe his little bum is to close to the ground?? LOL.

Snickers seems to prefer to pee (with her leg lifted) in the same spot Dolly went. She will wait til Dolly is done then sniff and pee there. Our spaniel, Jack, squats to pee. Sometimes he hits his front leg- what a dope.

Permalink Reply by Anna Morelli on June 28, 2012 at 11:40pm Believe it or not, this pooping behavior is actually genetic in nature and a breeder can trace it right down the line ( I did...) It is not breed related, but related to the dogs he comes from and you will not change this trait.

Permalink Reply by Maddie, Sam, and Ruby on June 29, 2012 at 2:01am Sam poops and pees where ever he feels the needs, like he`s pooped in the middle of the road before. He really isn`t picky. But my family`s chihuahua, Jack, will only pee where Sam has peed.
Permalink Reply by Jane Christensen on June 29, 2012 at 2:34am Livvy won't drop the ball to pee or poop but holds it in her mouth while she goes...I know this isn't what you are asking but it is weird and strange...oh, Livvy!
Permalink Reply by Lindsey Corkern on June 29, 2012 at 2:36pm LOL! That is hilarious! Leia is ball obsessed too but I can just picture Livvy doing that! Hehehe - thanks for the laugh!
Permalink Reply by Laura Rochette on June 29, 2012 at 11:04am Lucy does the same (walk and poop) but is usually quicker about it. I figure it has to do with staying clean? Though it probably has more to do with her momentary vulnerability, her expression makes her look so embarrassed as if she is saying "mom, this is soooo humiliating!"
Permalink Reply by Rachael McClanahan on June 29, 2012 at 1:43pm Dante does the poop-walk-poop-walk thing! Pippa doesn't stand still while she pees, she just keeps on walking (even when we stand still while she goes). She will often pee in the middle of the road or on the sidewalk, so she leaves long zig-zag trails behind her :/
Permalink Reply by Lindsey Corkern on June 29, 2012 at 2:39pm Leia does it too, but only on walks. We stop when she needs to go, but she will poop-walk until she is finished. Off leash, she goes like normal. We have not done anything on a walk that would have promoted that behavior. I think she is also nervous about being vulnerable...
Luke is never in a hurry, so he has normal potty habits.
