Timbit was 5 months. He started on valentines day so we joked it was his gift to us. We did get a Dyson because of the fur and it helps immensely! They have an attachment that you brush them with and it vacuums the fur at the same time. You may want to try a Furminator. It's a comb that helps thin their coat and works very well. Gets a good grip on their undercoat. Helps to get rid of most loose fur before it ends up all over.

For Roxie age 7 months the shedding started about 4-6 weeks ago. This sounds early? She was spayed at exactly 4 months. Oh I have never seen so much fur. We have three indoor cats and she sheds more than them all together.

Maybe it's because she's a mix but its been a week or two since her heat ended and I haven't noticed a pick up in shedding. I've been having nightmares about it and all the waiting is starting to get to me lol

Hehehe.....will your life change. Get the Animal for sure. The new one with the brushes rather than the roller beater bar. It's not suppose to get the fur tangled all around it. Don't get me wrong I love mine...it's several years old...but when they are blowing their coats I have to clean the beater bar every time.

It's due to hormone changes. They shed after a heat cycle, and several weeks after giving birth.

Selkie is turning 8 months old this month and the shedding . . . has . . . begun! My once brick red area rug is cream in as little as 12 hours after vacuuming! I'm also thinking of changing my wardrobe and wearing only brown/red tones;) I'm thinking of buying stock in lint/dog hair rollers:) Just wait for it and good luck!
