There are some people who think puppies should get the same food as adult dogs since that is what dogs do in the wild and some who think feeding puppy food until they are about year is best so growing puppies get more nutrients to grow. It's all a matter of opinion and who you ask I think! We decided to start transitioning Gibson to adult food at 6 months (he still gets puppy food mixed in) and it's gone pretty well so far :)

The sales person has misinformed you. Corgis are Dwarfs..they are large dogs w/little legs. Don't worry what the package says as far as amounts. Feed your corgi the amount that makes him look his best. The feeding measurements are generalized.

I feed Bugg half a cup twice a day. He's a shade under 10 lbs. right now. I find if he doesn't feel like eating it all, he'll leave a little in the bowl. Guess he's not a vacuum machine like a lot of other Corgis.

We just put Colby on this about a week ago. He is almost 5 months and about 20 lbs. We have been feeding him 2 cups a day. It seems like a lot compared to some of the other premium brands (EVO, Taste of the Wild, etc. calls for about 1 to 1.5 cups a day), but maybe it is because it is not as nutrient-dense? Can anyone else explain? :)<br />

Also, how long should a corgi be on Wellness Just for Puppy? The salesperson said 12 months for small dogs like a corgi, and 18-24 months for a larger breed.…

Also, how long should a corgi be on Wellness Just for Puppy? The salesperson said 12 months for small dogs like a corgi, and 18-24 months for a larger breed. Since corgis are sometimes considered a large breed in a small package, I get confused sometimes. Researching dog food makes me want to bang my head into a wall sometimes because I just want what is best for my little Colby... but there are SO many opinions on the subject of dog food and corgis. Proportions depend on the act…tag:mycorgi.com,2009-01-14:1150197:Comment:2853942009-01-14T18:45:14.255ZWendt Worth Corgi'shttp://mycorgi.com/profile/WendyWendt
Proportions depend on the activity level. Mine are pretty active and I exercise them quite a bit and w/a puppy going through growth spurts you have to change the amounts at times but I never give more then 2 cups. The amounts also depend on weather conditions and the size of your pup. Normally a cup in a half is ideal but once at maturity a cup or cup in a quarter works well.

Sid ate Wellness Puppy when he was younger. He got 1/2 cup twice a day with a little something mixed in, which would vary. A tablespoon or two.

I fed Gibson Just for Puppy (he's now getting a mix of that and Super5Mix). When he was 15 or so lbs, I was feeding him around 1.5 cups a day ( 1/2 cup 3 times a day). My vet gave me a good tip, and it was 1 lb of food per 10 lbs of puppy. Now that Gibson is 6 months and around 20 lbs he gets 2 cups of food a day.
