Shippo LOVES the soccer ball. It's great during cold weather too becuse I can kick it around for him and not have to use my hands. And somehow, he manages to pick this ball up that is bigger than his head and bring it back to me!

Funny you should ask...I use a big plastic ball to exercise my corgi, Milo. (I found it in the toy section of Target.) He loves to herd it. It works best when you go to a large open space and kick the ball back and forth between you and another person. That way you don't end up chasing it all over the place yourself, which turns into another game: Corgi Soccer! But yes, this works for my dog and it wears him out nicely :)

Hi from Pueblo! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on using a big rubber ball to let your Corgi exercise some of that herding instinct? I have seen Aussie's at the dog park "herd" a ball( talking big rubber bouncy ball) He is understandably afraid of it right now since it's way bigger than him but I figured this would end up being better than herding my kids around the backyard, lol

Hey everyone! The next Littleton corgi meetup is going to be on 3/7 at Wynetka dog park off of Bowles in Littleton. Anyone is welcome to come... just bring your corgi! I think we are meeting at 11am this time.

Have a great day!

Just wanted to let everyone in this group know that there is a group on meetup for Littleton corgis. We went to the last one and there were probaby 25 corgis at least. Lots of friendly dogs and people. Check it out! I think this month they are going to meet at Chatfield. Go to meetup.com to find out more.

No responsible breeder will breed Fluffies on purpose, but most of the time Fluffies just come from regular litters of corgis. Shippo came from a show breeder who bred two champions - and out popped Shippo and his Fluffy brother, Tonto! I'd much rather obtain a fluffy from a breeding of two normal, well-built, healthy, standard-fitting corgis with good temperaments anyway - it makes for healthier pets.

Also, even though I'm in CO, Shippo came from Canada. I'm sure there are fluffs born here all the time though. Just go to the PWCCA and look up breeders in CO and contact each one and ask them if they've had any fluffs born before - if they have, that's most likely where you'd want to start.
