A Fall get together sounds wonderful! My lil guy has a black coat and he steps outside and starts panting. Cooler weather sounds good to me.

Hi Nancy,
Sadie and I would love to do this walk but when it's a bit cooler. Right now we walk around a lake and Sadie likes to get her paws wet whenever she has a chance because she gets too hot. But thanks for organizing it. A Fall get-together would be great!!!

Hi fellow Hampton Roads corgis! Just to say that two of us are getting together to walk Sunday morning along the fabulous Greensprings Historic Trail, beginning at 9:00 am. Marion Hebert and Nancy Geddes are going to take the trek through the woods and along boardwalks and swamps that comprised the Berkley plantation during the Jamestown Settlement. We will meet at Jamestown High School, John Tyler Highway (Route 5), James City County (near Williamsburg), VA at 9:00 AM. The route should take one hour and will wend through shaded woods and along the wheatfields of Mainland Farms. All fabulous corgis are invited, with leashes, water and tennis shoes for the humans. Our walk will take one hour. We must share the trails with runners and expect to meet other dogs on the trail. If you have any questions, please call Nancy at 757-565-6290. We shall walk approximately 2.5 miles, walkway is stone and relatively wide.

The Richmond meet up group did fold. We had quite a few meet ups; however, after several dog bites and meet up issues, the matter of insurance and waivers came up. Coverage was expensive (and so was my emergency room visit with a puncture) and the paperpath formidable. But, our wonderful coordinator found it necessary to spend more time on her education and tried to find another coordinator. No one wanted to take the responsibilities. We really did have some fun times and I met quite a few wonderful corgis and people. All the best from Nancy, Bear, Tasha and Linus (boy, isn't it hot out there!?!?!?)

I'm in Newport News - we are willing to travel nearby for a meetup :). Keep me posted!

I guess the Richmond Corgi meetup has been dropped. At least I cannot reach them and the message says they are not on the list of meetups.

I know that the Richmond Corgi meet up group's leader has stepped down and the group is in danger of being dropped by www.meetup.com. We have been very active in the group and there are wonderful people and wonderful dogs. My dilemma is most events take place in Richmond and it can be a long drive for me in addition to my herding lessons, flyball and a full time job. I remember that Leila was also researching the matter of insurance/personal injury protection for those persons hosting meet ups, etc. For the Tidewater area, how about Newport News Park? Colonial Williamsburg is also good since it is good to make it a leashed walk.

How do I get in contact with the Corgi Meet-up group in Richmond?
