30 year old photo - Rookie, w. baby Lindsay

Rookie loved Lindsay and was always there protecting her. I can't imagine ever worrying about how Rookie would react to the birth of Lindsay, our first baby. I also can't imagine keeping them apart. Prior to our babies, Rookie was always with me. No matter how late I'd be up working, he'd be right there with his regal head on my foot. He was incensed when we came home with a new Corgi, Maggie. Maggie was 14 wks. and Rookie was 6 mo. He tried every which way to keep from entering a room. When she persevered, he pushed her into our pool. Eventually they became inseparable best friends. But, Maggie never was devoted to the babies like Rookie. Maybe Rookie just kept them to himself.

How do I ever get over losing my best friend? I had to make the awful decision to send her over The Bridge on Oct 10 2011. Still to this day I cry over losing her. I do have a new puppy coming Feb…Continue

This is Buffy with her buddy Spud. Both are gone now but far from forgotten! Buffy could barely walk the last year of her life but loved stroller rides. Nice idea for a group! Love seeing every ones much loved corgis!

Thanks for posting a photo of Radar. I hoped this would be a place to pay tribute to our Corgis past and reminisce with joy and not sadness. I have to find some old photos of my first corgis and scan them. Thanks to everyone who posts photos & comments.

This is Radar. He was my first corgi. He died this last November. He was a once in a lifetime dog. Scout is here now, but Radar will always be in my heart.

Dylan and Emily @ 5mo. with our baby, Marnie, now 23, and a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa. Oh the fun we had with all of our babies!

These were our beautiful Blandie Ijams Roughhouse litter mates. They were inseparable and thankfully Blandie would only sell them together. Dylan's on top. When he died we were so bereft that only a puppy would help. Enter Lucy!

Rookie was our swimming and diving corgi. We called him Greg (for Greg Louganis) because he so loved to do these flying dives into the pool). Maggie would chase him all around the decking and bark because she didn't like the water.
