Nice photos. Looks like your little one ( or two?) keep busy with herding duties.
Corbu (my boy) just got 2 legs of the HSAs title. Hoping to have the 3rd leg/title in August.

Anyone have experiance with chickens? Our chicks are 10 days old, and Ein just ignores them, or walks away... better than eating them, i know ...hehe.

I'm learning so much through herding lessons. Sometimes I feel like a klutz and unable to get away from sheep myself. What I really, really, really want to try is cattle. Small ones though, please. My two male corgis have the tendency to try to work too closely and that bothers the sheep. Bear will actually work with a little wool hanging from his mouth! Oops, did I say that?

Where do you live? If you google herding lessons in your state you may find something.

I belong to a schutzhund training club with my German Shepherd Dog. We are hosting an AHBA (American Herding Breed Association) certified herding instinct testing at Ewetopia, in Roy, Washington on Saturday, March 21st. It starts about 8am and lasts until about 2 or 3pm. There is food and fun and certificates for dogs who pass. This will qualify the dogs for their official HICs and HCTs. (Herding Instinct Certification and Herding Capability Tested)

There is no training involved as it's about breed instinct. Mixed breeds and non-herding breeds are also invited but won't qualify for the HCT.

We're also having 10.00 puppy runs for the little ones who are too young for their certificates. It's great to introduce puppies to sheep early on, especially if you'd like to try for the HIC/HCT or even herding training later.

Despite the fact that our club is mostly GSDs this event is "going to the corgis' as I already have about 5 cardis signed up. There is some more info here:

In case the link doesn't work you can paste this:

And I'm happy to answer questions as well. :-)

Hello All,
I'd like to try Bunny with herding, and when we get another corgi them also, mostly for exercise and mental stimulation for the dogs. Are most herding classes directed at people and corgis that want to herd competively?

We did a really interesting herding exercise in class yesterday. Terri inverted ten short black tubs in the large round pen and we practiced getting our corgis to circle wider and not cut directly into the circle as we moved the sheep. We also deliberately practiced changing directions - Tasha was going clockwise with such ferocity that I was getting dizzy! My two males, Bear and Linus require a lot of positive redirection while Tasha is so driven that I can be a little sterner on her during our exercises. Another big challenge is getting Linus to stay - sit while I move towards the sheep - he's so fast (and excited) that he's got them cut and scattered in seconds. After a lesson with three corgis, I'm pooped!! All the best from Williamsburg, VA: Nancy, Bear, Tasha and Linus
