Do you know if there is a corgi meetup group on Long Island? I had a golden retriever who passed away in December and we had the best meetup group.  But now I have Perci the Cardigan and I think she would benefit from some socialization.  She was raised with other corgis but she's an only dog now!

Dogparksusa.com (there is also an iPhone app) has listings of all the dog parks on the island, except they fail to mention our favorite park, Gardiner County Park in West Babylon. It is on Montauk Highway just barely east of the Robert Moses. It's a mandatory leash park but there are miles of wooded paths which are nice and flat and it's always packed with dogs. There is even a dog friendly beach for the little guys. By far my favorite. I also like West Hills, but Bomber prefers hiking the trails on a leash to going off leash in the dog area. As an FYI, those trails get difficult, I wouldn't recommend them for older or out of shape corgis or people for that matter! But Gardiner is great for everyone.

We are hoping to take Thiago to West Hills dog park in 2 weeks, Saturday Jully 11th of anyone wants to join in the Corgi fun, you are welcome, i think we will be able to identify eachothers pets.

I didnt know about that dog park, i read about LI D.O.G. and about the 5 dog park rule. I dont know where the other ones are. We hope to bring Thiago out there soon, now that its looking nicer out!

I live in Huntington and I am always at the West Hills Dog Park. Does anyone else go to dog parks on the island?

i only know about 4 familes who own corgis around here!! anyone!! we should have our own corgi parks!! :) i would love to go to one of thoseee!!
