I got a call from my brother's niece in Santa Barbara. She had a walking friend that had Andy and told Robin, the niece, that she had to find a home for her baby Andy. She couldn't keep him anymore (long story). Well, I packed my Corgis into my SUV and my brother and I took the over an hour drive (this was on October 31, 2010 ((Halloween)) and there was plenty of traffic oddly enough). We met the Andy and his Mom and I fell in love with this adorable little puppy, he was 10 months old. I introduced him to my 3 and they took off running and playing like they always knew each other. She gave us all of his toys, and bed and off we came to his "forever" home

I found Harley through Petfinders at a shelter in Long Island that specializes in herders.  He had 2 homes before me!  But we were very lucky to find each other when he was 2 years old and he is now 4.

I got my first corgi many many years ago from a breeder and when she died I got my second corgi from a different breeder.  But six years ago I got my current corgi Haley from the Second Chance Shelter in Vermont.  A friend of mine adopted her brother.  They came from a former "breeder" (I don't know how reputable he was) who got old and just lost control of all his dogs.  I got her at 8 mos old and she was a neurotic mess, but after lots of TLC she's now a wonderful, sweet, well behaved corgi!  By the way, she's an undocked Pembroke, as well as being a tri color, so lots of people don't recognize that she's a pure breed corgi or think she's a Cardigan. After having Pembrokes for so long it took a while to get used to the tail, but it's very endearing.

PLEASE IGNORE THE PREVIOUS POSTING--I'm so upset about Diamond that I can't even get her name right!!

Can any of you help find a rescue/adopter for a female corgi in the NYAnimal Care and Control shelter in Brooklyn? I already posted her on corgi-l and contacted the NY area corgi rescues. And no one's stepped up. I'm asking for help now.

Her picture is my profile pic here on mycorgi

Diamond is an older girl who lost her owner--she's very sad and afraid. AND worse this shelter doesn't keep its dogs long--Diamond is in danger of getting on the kill list at any time now. If you can help by sharing this info far and wide I'd be so grateful. I have 2 rescue corgis and a rescue rat terrier who are praying for Diamond too. Please, please help Diamond find her forever home: repost, share, tweet, retweet, share on all your social networks, rescue, foster, adopt. SAVE

Here is Diamond's facebook link

Hi both my boys are rescues-- and the one I had before these 2 was a rescue as well..My new boy Chevy is gonna be 3 soon and we rescued him just this last week from a abusive home and was moved from home to home I am his 4th home in 4 months.. He is a sweetheart and a very mellow dog and a cuddler.. Chevy is larger than Toby and a fluffy boy as well-- he loves to be brushed..

Toby we got him 7 months ago after our first corgi boy passed away from diabetes..Toby was terribly abused and and so scared-- my daughter has worked and worked with him and he has made a 360 since we got him..Toby just turned 2 on halloween..

I have only had Chevy for a few days now and I got him fixed already-- him and Toby get along so well and play together -- could not ask for a better two.. These 2 boys are so very special and we are so grateful to have them in our home with us -- and they both are wonderful with their sister cats- we have 3 of them as well and are all shelter rescues too..
