Charm is a therapy dog as well. He visits hospitals with my wife and I and has been known to ride around in my Ambulance upon occasion. He's been along on a couple of Search And Rescue calls and when people are rescued he's right there. A young lady who was lost and dehydrated was doing poorly indeed when we found her. Upon seeing Charm she exclaimed "Is that a Corgi?" and began to improve markedly while petting him, even before we began to treat her. It was this incident which convinced me he needs to come on all our SAR call outs. Maybe he's not a K9, but he definately has a role with us.

Our Blitzen is a therapy dog licensed through Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs. He took training at the local hospital and visits there. He has his own hospital name badge to wear when he goes. It is fantastic to see the response he gets. I think the staff likes to see him as much as the patients do. All you have to do to make him happy is to say lets go to work. He goes to wheel chairs, sits and waits to be loved on then moves to the next one. It is a rewarding experience and gives him something to look forward to.
