Thanks Laurie..that is great info. I will let my husband know. Do you know how far is too far for them to run?

You should not start running with a Corgi until they are 1 year old. This is based on the advice of my vet, who also is a breeder, and all of the research I've done as a breeder. Why? The growth plates in their bones aren't done growing until they are 10-12 months old. You can cause orthopedic & back problems.

Just have him pay close attention to how she is acting. I was told that Corgis were not meant for distance, but for short spurts.  Her over all health, activity level, and  hotter outdoor temps,  will determine her ability. Just like people, she will adjust to the length of his run. Start out slow, we started Maggie closer to 9 months, but that was more due to weather. Bring lots of water.

I jog with my corgis at a moderate pace on a trail but it's only about a mile then I put them inside and work out myself. They also have no problem going on 3 mile walks (in over 90 degree weather too) and they're both a little over a year

He runs for about 25 minutes.  I figured she probably couldn't until closer to a year?  He took her on a very short jog today but not sure the general time it is ok to.

Daphne Corgi... It depends on how far he runs. My husband will take Maggie on shorter runs (1-2miles), but that is about it. Maggie is a little under one year. My husband will not take her on longer runs because she slows him down : )  I would check with your vet, six months might be a bit young yet.

Take as many pictures as you can cause when it starts going it goes fast! Romeo only has a little bit left on the sides and a hint on the top of his head. :(
