I'm interested in a tri-colored corgi puppy. I want to contact a breeder in the area, because I'd like to know about the puppies BEFORE they're born so that I can request the tail not be docked. Anyone know of one in the Illinois, Indiana or surrounding areas????? I'm not going to pay an arm and a leg either.
I thought I was responding to your post, but it came up separately as a new thread. Here is Kerri's webpage. As I said in my separate post, they are in Indiana, south of Indianapolis, I think. We got our baby girl from her 2-1/2 yrs ago and she is beautiful, smart, loving... couldn't ask for a better Corgi. Of course, she doesn't always agree with what we think she should do, however, I understand that is a Corgi trait! :-) I don't think you could go wrong at least talking with Kerri. She was great to work with she has some pups posted now. Good luck!!! Edie Kutlus
Thanks so much!!!!
Did you ever contact Kerri? I think she is an outstanding breeder. I am sure that she does not over breed, the puppies all have their basic shots and Kerri is super about being a support/advisor if you have any questions after you get your new pup home.
Re: your comment about not paying an arm and leg - if you want to find a Corgi at much less cost, there are Corgi rescue organizations all over the country. It is very reasonable to get a pup from a group like that, but there is no guarantee that you will get a puppy. If money is a main factor, this avenue may be your best bet. The rescued dogs may have some bad habits, or be fearful, depending on what they were rescued from. If you think that you are willing and able to patiently discipline until the dog's bad habits or whatever are worked out, again, I think that this might be best for you. Good luck in your search. Our little girl is just as beautiful and sweet tempered as she can be and I'm very glad I got her from Kerri. We have been satisfied from day one.
