Enzo LOVES to swim! At about 6 months old he was scared of the waves at the beach. Then jumped in with no incentive. We think he got a little scared because it took him about another 6 months to swim again. We started taking him to the lake but he would just walk in the water and as soon as he couldn't feel the bottom he turned around. This whole spring, summer we went to the lake about everyday. He was the only dog to swim without having to fetch something. Not sure what to do this coming winter.

Thanks Honey & Gus! We just got Ronan a life jacket and I think he likes modelling it more than actually using it for what it's for :)

I had been Hoping Ace would like the water since that is one thing I love to do during the summer is swim (go to the beach/river and just swim the day away) at first ace was scared of the waves at the beach so then i took him to the river and toted him out to where i was a little in up to my chest... he was at first all D: nuuuuu then i let him go and he swam to shore looking at me like i was a demon LOL... then as my brothers friend came in we swam around then heard SPLASH.. i turned around to look for ace and didnt see him then sure enough i felt my backside getting scratched at and there was Ace XD i was all YAY!!! and so he now swims 8D he also LOVES the hose... i have several videos of him chasing the water from our Hose at home XD he also likes to go bobbing for Ice Cubes in his kiddy pool i bought him earlier this year =D

Thanks Kristen. I feel it's a good change of pace as well, and he just looks so happily tired afterward :)

my corgis love to swim... they don't seem to like to jump from too high, as they get a ton of water in their ears... i think it is a good way for them to get exercise without putting a ton of pressure on their joints... If it hurt, they wouldn't do it. It is also a good way to mix up the exercise when the danger of ticks and heat is so high in the fields.

Hello everyone! I was very proud of Ronan for deciding he wanted to swim. He did really well and I could tell he was happy with what he'd done. Another corgi owner, however, seemed to disapprove saying that I had to be careful because "their legs are not made for swimming." Can I get your thoughts on this? I don't think a short swim once in awhile is a big deal, but maybe I'm wrong...
