I hope i can make it! I might have work!
  • Hector

with this nice weather holding through the weekend, I will be up for the Danny Jackson dog park at 10am (westpark/610 area, right?). It will be my first event with the HTAC, so Radar and Kayli will have loads of fun, and pictures will be plentiful.
  • Max & Cody

Wish we could make it, we will be out of town.
  • Sarah ♥'s Sadie

Sadie is excited to see Corgi friends tomorrow!

The meetup was great! The herd of corgis was worth the rain.
  • JanRich

Glad y'all had fun. Sorry we missed out! Penny is holding a grudge against me right now.
  • Elisabeth Spector

We had a great time at the meetup today! Betsy LOVES going to the dog park (we go to Bay Area Park in Clear Lake), but I've never seen her have half the fun she had today with the herd of Corgis. It was definitely worth the ride out there and worth the rain.
  • Hector

great turn out! Radar and Kayli were at home with all the corgis. I forgot how good it feels to see so many corgis playing together. I don't what it is, but corgis know when they playing with other corgis. We need to do it again.
  • Alicia

I know it was awsome! and with almost no other dogs there. Just a wild pack of corgis. my dogs are going to be so sore tomarrow.
  • JanRich

    I wanna see pictures!
  • Elisabeth Spector

Here are a handful of pictures. Not the best day for photography, but a wonderful day for a meetup (I think the dogs liked the cool, wet weather!).

These and a couple of others are also on My Page.
  • KyraMoonUnique

  • Caroline

    How about this weekend?!
  • Max & Cody

We might be able to meet up somewhere if it is early Saturday morning (before noon), and I'm thinking everyone might have plans since it's Mothers day on Sunday.
  • Beth

My husband and I go to the dogpark every Saturday morning, so we'll be at Danny Jackson around 10am if anyone wants to come as well. :)
  • Caroline

Izzie and I are usually at Danny Jackson Saturday morning too, we'll be there sometime between 9 and 10.
  • Elisabeth Spector

We'll try to be there. Had a blast last time in the rain. :-)
  • JanRich

We'll try to make it too!
  • Hector

between 9-10 sounds good for me, see everyone there.
  • Beth

I posted some pics from the meetup today on my page!

    Thanks for posting pics!

Does anyone know of a good (reasonable priced) dog friendly hotel in san Antonio? I have done some internet searching, but I was hoping to see is anyone has one in mind. I was looking for one near Hemisfair Park, or near a good park for my two corgs. If anyone has a lead please post or respond via gmail: hzamora315@gmail.com Thanks all.
  • Max & Cody

I think most La Quinta's accept pets but might need to double check. All hotels downtown, near Hemisfair Park will be expensive, so the further out the lower the price goes I think. There are only 2 dog parks in S.A. but neither one has large/small dog seperation, the more popular one is near the airport. There are various regular parks around the city. If you have any questions about areas to stay just let me know as I just moved from SA.

The power of dogs can be found on the military channel's "War dogs of the pacific". Emotional program and when I was watching it, both corgs jumped up on the couch with me and we all watched it together. I wonder if corgis were used in any military service. I know they are now used in south Texas for hunting, because they are short, can get under the brush, and sables blend into the light brown foreground.

Anyone up for a meet one of the next Saturdays? 12th or 19th? Danny Jackson?
  • Beth

I'll come on the 12th! I'm out of town the next weekend though. :(
  • Caroline

I'm also for the 12th! Working all day on the 19th, boooo. Meet around the usual time at 9am?
  • JanRich

9am sounds great! We'll see you guys there! With a cold drink!
  • Elisabeth Spector

We'll try to be there if we can!
  • Hector

Kayli, Radar, and myself will be there on the 12th.
  • JanRich

I might not be there tomorrow. I had my first bad bout with morning sickness today and heat and sunshine probably aren't going to help! But you guys have fun and stay hydrated!
  • Elisabeth Spector

We had a great time in spite of the heat, and it was nice to see everyone again. I posted a few pictures from the meet-up on my page. (If anyone's ever interested, larger versions can be found on our family's smugmug.com site: spector@smugmug.com.) Looking forward to the next meet-up, and I hope everyone stays cool in all this heat!
  • Hector

Your pictures are priceless!! I look forward to the next meeting of the corgis!
  • Elisabeth Spector

Thanks so much, Hector. Oh, and just realized I put in the wrong link for our family pictures--should be www.spector.smugmug.com. I have a separate gallery just for dog pics in case people don't want to wade through all my other stuff. :-)
  • JanRich

Those are so good! You got great ones of Penny and Jet. We had fun Saturday! The next meet will be even hotter! We might have to meet at 8am next time!
  • JanRich

I posted a video of the dogs on a mad rampage around the park! It's on my profile. Enjoy!
  • Alicia

  • Elisabeth Spector

I loved the video! It sure sums things up better than any pictures can. I think I watched it about 5 times, lol.
  • Beth

The video is so cool, I loved to see Echo leading the pack! It's a lot of fun to watch corgis play with other corgis.
  • JanRich

thanks! the video was easy, the corgis did all the work!
  • Elisabeth Spector

I'm wondering if anyone is up for another meet-up at the Danny Jackson bark park on July 24th? We just added a second corgi to our family, a sweet tri-colored male who was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Louisiana. I think he'd love meeting some other corgi friends! We can't make it next Saturday, but would love to get together if anyone else can make it on the following Saturday (the 24th). Maybe 9:00 before it gets too hot?
  • Hector

I will plan on being there. The earlier the better, 7am is my limit. What is the name of the little guy? Glad too see that you got him before, well you know.. Is he your first rescue? Radar (my rescue from Johnson City) taught me a lot on "breaking" in a dog with stray issues. Which were all kept secret from me until I brought home, also got heart worms during his foster care, and I could go on, but is 100% better and I could not image my dog family without him.
  • Elisabeth Spector

Hector, the new guy's original name was Fred (Freddy), so we're sticking with that for now. Betsy was also a rescue. She's been an amazing dog, with absolutely none of the behavioral issues one associates with rescues, and very easy to train. She did have heartworms, which were successfully treated. Freddy is a big, burly guy, very quiet so far, who loves human affection and seems to get along well with other dogs. He's had a bit of a hard time recovering from his neutering last week (top layer of stitches opened up, but now healing very well. He looks to Betsy for guidance (and she's happy to give it, LOL, in a surprisingly patient way most of the time). If Betsy is any example, we probably won't see Fred's true personality until we've had him 3-4 weeks, but he's been a real sweetie so far. I hope he'll enjoy the corgi meet ups as much as Betsy does!

Regarding the 24th--we probably can't make it too much earlier than 9, as we're coming from Seabrook and have to roust two sleepy kids out of bed. But we'd love to beat the heat, too, and might show up a little earlier if we can!
