Thought we could do a meet up at the Boneyard on August 11th at 7pm. It seems to be a popular time for even non-mycorgi corgis to show up. It's a no kiddos venue. They have lots of shade, picnic tables and best of all... BOOZE (no hard liquor, delicious beers, sangria and reds/whites)! Bonus -- they usually have a food truck parked out front, so bring cash! And some bug spray.

Pudge will be there, with bells barks on. Last time we had a meet up there, the corgis basically took over. It was pawesome. Hope to see you all out again!!

August 11, 7pm --- they get all pooped out (usually 9-930).

That sounds great, I haven't been there yet. It sure sounds fun though, plus they've got beer. ^_^ So count me in on that one!

Hey y'all! Just a reminder, CORGI MEET UP! This Saturday! A mini corgipalooza!

We plan to be there. Daisy says she will bring her bark! Our last 2 attempts at making a meet-up didn't work out well so I am hoping nothing gets in our way Saturday!

  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

Has everyone on Facebook gone here:

to vote for Pudge as the 2013 Reliant Dog Show Poster Dog? Seriously, spread the word. Use all your underground contacts to get him the votes. He is by far the CUTEST (and most famous) of all dogs entered. :-)

  • DeeDea & Pudge

Awww thanks Kara! I hope Pudge can represent CORGIS as Houston's official dog. :)

  • NOBU, MUFFIN, ROBYN, & MILES

    Can't WAIT for the meetup!

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

We're planning to be there!!  Hopefully I'll be able to devote more time to the groups now that the moving stuff has calmed down!

On a side note, I voted for Pudge and saw an increase in his numbers!  Come on guys, get your friends and family to vote!  We need a Pudge representative!

  • Hector

Just catching up with all the comments. Pudge's vote is on its way. Boneyard tonight is not that good for me, but i will likely get there when thing are winding down. Have a good Saturday all now I'm to have my corgis destroy a beach ball. If no one has tried it, you should funny as heck.
  • Brian & Spencer

Aimee and I have been very busy the past few weekends.  Hoping to make it out to the next meetup though.

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

Hey guys. Please hug your Corgis extra tight - they just aren't here for long enough. It was Roady's time to go this evening and we are missing him terribly, but know he's not hurting anymore. Feel free to send any pics of him you may have - we have enjoyed looking back at his time with us. We had him for less than 6 years (he was a rescue) but he lived a full and carefree life with us.
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

I am so sorry to hear about Roady. It is so hard when they leave us no matter how many years they were in our lives. We will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. :'(

  • Ann and Izzy

Has anyone thought about having a meetup next weekend? This weather has been great!  Taffy has not gotten to meet the group yet and she's almost 9 months old!  Any of the dog parks will be fine with us.  Hope to see everyone soon!

  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

We will be busy with agility trials and Girl Scout stuff the next few weeks. I really want to meet up with everyone but can't until October 20 or 21. We will be at an agility trial in Santa Fe Oct. 5-7 if anyone wants to come out and watch the chaos! :) We are still planning to go to the Corgi Celebration in Buda October 27th. ( http://www.corgicelebration.com/ ) Is anyone else going? We are thinking about camping at a nearby state park if anyone wants to join us. Hopefully the weather will be good (and the corgis)!

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

If you guys set a time this weekend, we'll try and make it. Ziggy could use some Corgi interaction. Things are a bit crazy for us, we are getting ready for our vacation next week and won't be back until the 20th. I'm trying to convince hubby to go to the Corgi celebration the following weekend - not having much luck though!
  • Lisa & Gracie

We'll be going out of town this weekend.... how would Sunday afternoon, October 21st work for everyone?  We could make it an outing for both humans and Corgis... everyone bring a snack.  I live in the Friendswood/League City area.  I know that there is a dog park on Bay Area Blvd... does anyone have any better suggestions?  I'm very new at this....

  • Curtis B

There are two Corgi pups in Haslet (near Fort Worth) that need a home. They are 4 and 6 months and really should be adopted together. It's a bit of a drive for all you Houston area folks, but it's worth it!

  • Brian & Spencer

http://www.corgicelebration.com/  Buda Corgi Celebration is October 27th by the way folks.

As for this weekend, I am booked on Saturday, but could possibly do something on Sunday.  The Boneyard on Washington is a pretty nice place.

  • DeeDea & Pudge

The Boneyard loves having a herd of corgis barking their momos off. ;) But I'm out for the 20th meet up.

I am on the fence if we will go to the Corgi Celebration this year. I wish they would fence off an area so the corgasaurs can run free. Like have an open play area after the agility demos.

Or maybe if everyone wants to put their quarantine pens together so there IS a fenced off area... Pudge just wants to play all day, being on a leash last year for so long around dogs was just creating frustration in him.

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

It looks like we're out for the Corgi Celebration, it's going to be too close to us returning from vacation.  We'll definitely be setting something up in November - it's Corgi weather finally!

  • Kiara Ovalle

    Voted :)
  • Sarah C.

Will we be having a halloween celebration this year?

  • Ann and Izzy

Just wanted to let you guys know in case you haven't seen my posts on my page, Taffy broke her hip on Thursday.  We have seen so many vets this week.  At one point they said she needed total hip replacement!! We took her to Texas A&M yesterday and they are going to do surgery next week.  They said they don't think she needs a replacement.  We will know more this afternoon after the surgeon sees her. The worst part is we had to leave her there!  I know they are taking really good care of her.  They have already called this morning and given us an update on how she's doing.  We really miss her!!  Izzy keeps looking for her.  Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks!

  • DeeDea & Pudge

Thinking about doing an overdue corgi meet up.

January 1st, the Boneyard. Time TBA. Anyone else in town? I figure most of us will be off from work. I'm too old to nurse a NYE hangover. So... corgi meet up!??!?

Y'all down? I'll call the Boneyard to confirm they are open.

  • manda & molly

    Aww:( I have to work
  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

We should be in town, since we both go back to work the 2nd!
  • Brian & Spencer

I think we can make the 1st too.  Missed you guys!

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

I sent out a group message as well, but just in case:
    January 1, Boneyard, 3:00
    http://www.boneyardhouston.com/
  • Rachael McClanahan

Once the puppies have gotten their rabies vaccines I hope to start making the meet ups! Pippa and Dante have a long way to go on their socialization still, unfortunately :(

  • Meaghan & Cowboy

We're gonna try to make it.

  • Lisa & Gracie

I really wish we could make it... I'm really wanting for Gracie to meet all of her Corgi counterparts!  We'll be coming back in to town tomorrow late-afternoon.  If it rains (which it very well may be), then please reschedule!  I would love to make it!

  • DeeDea & Pudge

If it's raining, then we shall reschedule accordingly. Perhaps the weekend?

If it rains -- 3pm Sunday, the Boneyard

  • Lisa & Gracie

Yes!!  We could definitely make it then.  If you do reschedule, then just post it here and we'll put it on our calendar to make it.  Thanks!!

  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

We're voting for a reschedule to Sunday because of the weather.
  • Lisa & Gracie

I can't make it today anyway so I'm defintely in for Sunday!  Just let me know the time and I'm assuming it would be at the Boneyard.??

  • DeeDea & Pudge

OK, let's reschedule. Pudge doesn't like getting wet, it means getting a bath. Sunday is for the win.

    Sunday, 3pm

    http://www.boneyardhouston.com/

  • Beth

Echo and I will be there! I love Boneyard.
  • Lori and Renato (Eevee)

Just found out that Boneyard only allows fixed pets. Eevee will have to sit this one out :( Next time :)

  • DeeDea & Pudge

Lori - Since she's a girl, only thing I would say don't bring her if she's in heat. Because that would be SUPER bad. ALL of the dog parks have a rule against intact dogs and dogs in heat.

Aww yeah! Cardi coming to the party!

Hoping for good weather, see y'all tomorrow!

  • Lisa & Gracie

Do ya'll know if they require the Bordetella shot as part of their vaccines?  I think that's the only one Gracie doesn't have right now because we haven't boarded her in a while.

  • Lisa & Gracie

Oh no... I just realized on the Boneyard website that children aren't allowed.  We were going to make this a family outing and my children would be so disappointed if they didn't get to go.  They were really looking forward to this... so we won't be going.  It doesn't seem fair to us for them to not be allowed to be there.  If a meetup is scheduled in the future in a more family-friendly location, we'll definitely be there.

  • DeeDea & Pudge

It''s a bar. And a dog park. The liability is too huge if a child got bitten. Our local dog park (Lucy park) actually has a ban on children too.

Next month we can vote on a different location.

  • Sarah C.

Maybe we should mix it up more. Personally I enjoy having meet-ups at places that do and don't allow kids. Then there's some variety, and people who don't dig being around kids can be happy and people who have kids can be happy. And those of us who aren't capable of behaving appropriately in front of children (me) won't have to be good all the time. ;)

  • Beth

It's currently raining at my house... Anyone closer to the heights area have better news about the weather there?
  • DeeDea & Pudge

Beth we are meeting on SUNDAY. It should be nice tomorrow. Great corgi FRAPing weather!
  • Beth

Oh silly me! Haha.. Glad I said something or I would have been there all alone! See you tomorrow, then. :)
  • Lady Bug (Michelle)

We can vote for next months meetup location and date, we do try and mix it up. If you guys want to set up another one at a dog park this month we can do that too. I'm more than happy to send out a group message :) The Boneyard is fun because there is seating and adult beverages, but we do like the dog park meet ups for bigger groups and the family inclusion. I love suggestions and group votes so please speak up! For those that haven't met me or the group yet, we are very easy going - that was my goal in creating this group - something where everyone is welcome, all types of Corgis, mixes and other furry family members! A group of people from all different walks of life brought togeter by our love of Corgis!

Early planning usually means a bigger turn out, sometimes life gets in the way and I don't plan as much as I should so a little prodding is always appreciated!
  • Lisa & Gracie

I have a couple of suggestions for parks that allow children.... there are two dog parks in Pearland (Independence Park and Southdown Dog Park).  I believe both have agility equipent for dogs and look pretty nice.  The other is Bay Area Dog Park in the Clear Lake Area.  If you're ever considering a Corgi meet-up where families could come it seems that any of these three would be great!  :)
