wondeful! Ollie & I will check out redondo early in the morning next weekend!! Are other dogs welcome? Ollie has a best buddy French Bulldog named Drake :)
Yay!! We're excited for the So Call Corgi Picnic. Conan had a great time at the Corgi Fun Day, although he enjoyed the Humans more than the other Corgi's but thats usually the case with him until he is more comfortable with the other dogs.☺
Lacey and I would love to meet corgis and their owners from the Santa Monica, West LA or Pacific Palisades areas for fun and frolic. We are fairly new to the area, although I grew up here many moons ago. Lacey is a very friendly outgoing rescue girl who loves to play soccer and tag.
By the way, I am also a pet portrait artist, specializing in realistic vivid watercolors. Please check out my website, portraits-by-renee.com for more info.
Hi all, just wanted to put out there that we'll be creating a group for a West LA meetup (details TBA) and of course, every corgi & their family (including siblings of non-corgi lineage) are welcome!
This will actually be my first time there and my first event with Luna. There is a group on here for them - with a link to their meetup page as I've noticed they don't really post the events on the group page here on mycorgi.
I would like to invite WLA Corgi Crew and all Southern CA corgis to a meet-up at Barrington Park on 333 South Barrington Ave in Brentwood on Sunday, January 30th from 1:00-2:30. Here is the website for the park, which was rated 4 stars in Yelp. Lacey wants to play soccer with her corgi friends.
It was drizzling near the ocean e a bit this morning, but as of 12:00 it is not. I am from the Santa Cruz mountains, so unless rain is bouncing off my head, I don't worry about it too much. Let's say the meet-up is happening if it is sprinkling, but canceled if it is really raining. Corgis are from Wales, after all!!!!
Not sure about ducks, geese are often used for herding tests. Here's a link to Jerry Stewart in Long Beach/Anaheim/Perris who holds herding clinics during the week nearly all year, mainly with sheep.
Hi there -- just wanted to pass on info for a pem corgi female (listed as 5 months) at the Lancaster shelter! She looks like a sweetheart.. I hope someone can give her a forever home! The Corgi's # is A4101135 at the Lancaster shelter, 2-17 owner surrender.
I own a 8 month old Corgi boy! I moved from the NorCal area 2 years ago and am still trying to situate myself in So.Cal...along with being a first time dog owner!
Hi Michelle, I'd be down to meet you there with my corgis once my little one gets her last set of shots. One more month and I can take her everywhere with me :)
To view Lacey's qualifying Herding Instinct Test in the Leona Valley yesterday, please click http://tinyurl.com/4oc4ah5 She had never met a sheep in her life before, but the herding light-bulb clicked on once she discovered that they moved whenever she did. Magic! In the photo she is nose to nose with a knuckleheaded sheep who tried to head-butt her. 25 pound Lacey pushed that sheep right back in line. I was so proud of her. The weather was terribly cold and windy!
If you would like to try herding out with corgis, check out www.taskfarms.org which is in the Palmdale area. The ranch was very well managed, and the evaluators are very nice. The owner, Terry Kenney, also teaches herding lessons. Lacey had never been on a ranch or seen sheep before the day of the test. The herding lightbulb just clicked on.
Lacey made Corgi pic of the day on March 22 with her herding photo!
Hi there! I'm looking for a Pembroke Corgi puppy but am having a hard time finding one in the Phoenix area. Does anyone have any recommendations for reputable breeders in Southern California or in the LA area?
Hello All!! Hope everyone and their corgis are doing well. Corgi Fun Day (sponsored by PWCCSC) is coming soon on June 18th in Anaheim. Here is the flyer: http://www.pwccsc.org/docs/Corgi_Fun_Day_Flier.pdf
Hi all! My husband and I are looking to adopt our first Corgi. Any one out there who has heard of a young adult/adult Corgi who needs a loving home please list! Thanks so much!
Thank Ginny! Yes we have been PetFinder and about a dozen other adoption sites. I think we might have found one in Riverside... We're keeping our fingers crossed!
Corgi Fun Day is 10AM to 3PM. We are already there as we are camping at the park. Getting ready to walk to to the event. Hope to see you there! We'll have festive collars on Phoebe & Yoli, so look for us & say hey!

Hi Everyone!
If anyone is in the Irvine/Lake Forest area there's this Dog Friendly Cafe opening up!
I'm SO going to check it out and bring my corgi! I think they even have cute play pens for your pups to socialize!
