You're welcome Gail! Glad to have another Mother and Daughter team on this site :)

Gail, congratulations on your new puppy. Very exciting. Can't wait to see pictures. What does he look like?

What great fun!. We have cats and horses as well. I have a daughter who is a jockey. Only one TB an Appendix and a Q-horse/Arab and two minis. The horses don't enjoy the herding too much. They ignore the Corgis when they don't want to play and they will run when they do. It is pretty funny and well you know what they say about herding cats! lol. The geese and ducks do get a work out. I would like to do some formal training on herding and not just random acts based on instinct as it is now. It is hard to wait--it is a great breed. I'm excited for you.

instead of buying "nature's miracle" or other cleaning solution for accidents, you can use paper towel to soak up all the urine in the carpet, when there is no more urine, pour hydrogen peroxide 1 inch more than the original affected area and that should do it. It will kill the scent and discourage your young pup from returning to the same spot to pee again. If the stain is still present, you can use a mixture of baking soda and water, along with some elbow grease and that should do it.

Hi Gail...PetSmart carries Blue Buffalo as its organic line. It's an excellent food. One website was extremely helpful to me: http://dogfoodanalysis.com. Science Diet used to be an excellent food prior to being bought out by Colgate. They've changed their formulas to include much more filler and rendered product. Not healthy.

Pupcorn is not the best. But you can get lots of good ones: Blue Buffalo makes a couple, Paul Newman's Organic, etc.

yeah, that is the only place that I really see dogs. I love going to Bark in the Park there though, now I have a dog to bring!

Well, I worked some hours when I was in undergrad at ULL for an honor society. It is in Girard Park, usually between September or October I think. Actually, October was the last one this past year. But, it is this big dog party put on in junction with Krewe des Chiens/Lafayette Animal Aid, and (not sure if this is still radio station, I know it was when I was at ULL) this country music station called the dawg. But, you can adopt dogs there, bring your dog (some ppl dress up there dogs), there are games and food, raffles, and live music. They also do the animal blessings there if you want that. I'm sure it is somewhat of a fundraiser as well, this is the best link I could find:

My work computer doesn't let me hyperlink so you'll have to copy and paste. But, yeah its fun and plenty of cute pups!

Gail he is adorable. I love the one ear up one ear down stage. He looks a bit like my Brodie at that age. You are in for so much fun. He will eat when he is hungry...might just take him a while to figure it out. He is overwhelmed with new things. The cat is going to have to let Saxon know who is boss. It is very likely they will get along quite well. Corgis and Cats can become good friends. I'm so excited for you! Good Luck!

Hi! How's little Saxan been doing? Penny is getting so big already and she is so fun now! She isn't biting us so much anymore and plays so well!
  • Megan and Penelope

That's so great. I love it when they play with other pups, the wear themselves out and we get some rest too, haha! Yep, Penny had her last round of shots last month, around the middle of the month. She will be getting spayed August 12th too. Can't wait to see how your little man has grown!
  • Megan and Penelope

Wow, look how big he has gotten! He is so cute!
  • Megan and Penelope

Big boy, huh! Penny got fixed about a month ago, she's about 7 months now and the scale said 14 lbs. then, but I just could not believe that (she was 14 lbs. in mid June). I really think she is 20-22 lbs. now. Penelope has been so awesome with the potty stuff, but I think she is finally not biting (me for attn., the rugs and furniture) as much as she was. At least I hope so!
