old man, 2 dogs...both apl rescues...the corgi guy is a hoot...hell, they both are. I couldn't tear these dogs apart if I had to. Both mixed, both rescued..they have bonded. Makes me feel better, Sophie was alone before Frasier came along....even though he has a footwear appetite. My mother raised pedigree German Shepard dogs, and introduced me to the love of canines. As a child I had a Doberman, Malamute, Saint Bernard, Shnoodle, and various other dogs. My sis is a Sheltie lover, but I lean to the Bully dogs. As an adult my first dog was a Keeshond mix. Then I had an Am Staff that I loved. That's what I like about my corgi mix. He's tough as nails, yet a clown. Very affectionate. I just wish he would stop eating my shoes.
About My Corgi(s):
he's a male, mixed with something stubborn. He looks like a beagle head on a corgi body, but has all the tell-tale cardigan corgi signs. about 45 pounds I guess, he doesnt like the scale.
OMG, he looks just like my Corki! I can't tell you how much either. OMG! Ours is Pekingese and Corgi. I am just amazed. I'll post pictures soon so you can see what I am talking about. OMG!
Good size! I like dogs that have some substance to them. Small enough to pick them up if needed but you don't feel like they are going to break in doing so.
My husband took the pic of Kitsie in the car, in fact, he took most of the photos on my page. lol, yes, she can hear things a mile away. I like the fact that Kitsie enjoys cuddling with us when we watch tv or play video games.
Corgi's definitely have an attitude ten times their size! That's my favorite thing about them. The confidence just exudes from them and their facial expressions show it. My 'Bos' is a Great Dane/Lion/St. Bernard mix at heart!!
But I love that he also has a softer side....he just waits until no one's looking...runs over to me, gives me a sloppy kiss and a "Love you!" glance and then it's back to manning the perimeter! Ha-ha!!
I also have adopted corgi mixes. They are now living with my mom. One looks alot like your they said he was a pembroke welsh corgi mix, about 30 lbs. with a tail. I got him 10yrs ago, is now 15yrs. old. I also adopted I believe a corgi/chihuahua he is only 12 lbs. and about 5yrs. old. Then I have my rescue Ginger who is pure pem, and also a tri sheltie Zoey that I adopted. I aslo have Prince he is a tri pembroke welsh corgi, those are the three in the picture.
Ok, I haven't learned how to put a lot of pictures on here, but I am trying.
I added just the one I have on my computer at work with his face. Go look at it and tell me that they don't look alike. Even my husband was amazed. The tail, the face, freckels. This last picture of your slide show is where I saw that they looked so much alike, the tail, the front feet.
Jeff, I just gotta know how old is your corgi pup? My mom is president of the local rescue dogs here in Oklahoma and I promise you we both swear that they could be litter mates. I will try to post more pictures on my site, but go look. I have one of just Corki's head.
