Hometown:
I believe I will be moving back to the north Georgia area soon.? Better area for a Corgi's thick coat.
About Me:
I am a 50 year old blonde southern girl who bought her first Corgi in 2000......we named her Pippi Shortstocking ( a takeoff of the Pippi Longstocking little girls book). I lived then with my back yard backing up to the Sherwood Forest Country Club, so Pippi had the run of the golf course and I bought her numerous "soft covered" soccer balls which she LOVED to push them around with her nose forever! After a few unfortunate incidents we had to sell the house and I was on my own and a lot poorer than I had ever been. Pippi was my CONSTANT companion, loved to ride in the car and go everywhere with me. Unfortunately , by not having a back yard anymore, I took her to the local public park to play her beloved soccer games with me. I still cry when I have to talk about this, but some people who had ben picnicking there earlier, left a lot of their food debris out, and some of it was crab legs. Before I could catch her, she had chomped some down, and to make a long story short, I had to take her to the emergency room and the vet could not figure out what to do, and she died the next day. (Dec 13th, 2007.)
I have never loved an animal so much in my life ( I do not have kids, so she was my baby!) I would love to get another one (preferably rescue) ....but I want to make sure I have the proper living arrangements and space for the dog....because they are not lap dogs and just love to be out playing ( someplace safe, of course ). I am not married either.....and I am missing that little animal so much. I never took so many pictures in my life and I constantly take them out to look at her. I have just got to find another one soon, and when my Mother passes away, I may have enough money to buy a nice place for one or two Corgis to live with me! I would love to have a roommmate that loves them as much as I do.....and we could join forces to take care of some. A single guy would be GREAT....but anyone who has had a Corgi and realizes they are the GREAEST dogs in the World , I would love to talk to. I am using a friends PC right now, and when I get my own laptop back, I will put my picture on it. I am very young for my age, and have always worked in event marketing and promotonal marketing jobs. One of the last ones I had was for Eukanuba dog foods, and I could take Pippi to the PetSmart with me to market the food.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Pippi was a red and white Pembroke Corgi......she was the runt of the litter, and I had my choice of all of them, and I still took her, because I loved her personality! She was feisty! When she passed away, I had her cremated, so she will always be with me. I also found out about Best Friends Animal Sanctuary from some of my friends who gave me a donation gift memebership. I ended up going out there and volunteering for a week. It was a GREAT experience and all animal lovers should go out there and experience the enthusiasm and care for all of the animals, and see what a great movement they have started in this country, to one day realize the dream of no more homeless animals! Take care and thanks for letting me vent my emotions! Merrie Whitlock

    Welcome Merrie. What a sad story about Pippi. Corgis are the greatest. Good luck with your future plans; I hope it all works out for you.

    Hello Merrie, That is Lance on Lake Superior this summer when we were visiting the Upper Peninsula!! I actually in a suburb of Chicago. I used to work in Chicago years ago and loved it, but prefer being in the suburbs having Lance.
