Kaycee was born on March 12, 2006. We became her guardian in 2007 because her mommy Kathy was finishing up college in Ohio. Kaycee is super smart but loves to eat.
Sounds like it might be a good time to add a puppy or a rescue to the mix. I can imagine it will be difficult. What a great friend you are to care for this little girl. What a comfort it must be to your friend. Your dress up pictures just make me laugh! Thanks!
Hi Mary, nice meeting you and Kaycee at the meetup. Kaycee is great with the nose trick... any tips on training for this? We started trying it with Dash, but he's super fidgety.
Kaycee is a very nice looking Corgi! You are very lucky! My niece is a freshman at NYU and she went to the Corgi meet up early this month. She had a wonderful time! Have a nice Thanksgiving!
Hi, Kaycee! That's awesome that you're in Queens, too. We took Norman out to Cumberland park in the Bayside area yesterday. I rarely see Corgis in NY, so it's refreshing to know that there are other corgis in Queens! Hopefully on some weekend, Norman & Kaycee can meet up. Happy Holidays to you and Kaycee's family!
Kaycee is a cutie also. Ruble goes to Alley Pond Park on weekend mornings before 9 AM quite often. It's not an enclosed dog park, but there are tons of dogs, and its wide open spaces. The people love Ruble, and would welcome seeing another Corgi. Ruble hasn't been going as much lately because her person says its too cold, and he doesn't have a double coat built in.
Alley pond is not far from Fresh Meadows. With the better weather, that means the softball players are back so parking gets a little trickier. Off leash hours end at 9 AM. You can take 73rd Ave east to Springfield Blvd. There is a parking lot off of Springfield. You can also take the Grand Central Pkwy to the exit for the Cross Island Pkwy, but get off at the Winchester Blvd exit. Make a left at the stop sign at the end of the ramp, and then another quick left (you'll be driving under the highway now) and that road will lead you to the parking lot where a lot of dog people park. A lot of softball players use that lot also. I park my car at 73rd ave and 230th street and walk through the woods to get to the fields. Let me know when you will try and go, and we'll try to meet up.
It'll be fun to see all the Corgis meet each other. Bailey had a best friend in Florida, another Corgi that looked just like her, and she never really played with any of the other dogs at the dog park. Hopefully she'll think all the dogs are Maggie :)
Hi Mary and Kaycee,
We missed the corgi meet up and feel terrible! My boyfriend has the dreaded poison oak, and it is severe. We were so looking forward to seeing everyone, will there be another one soon? Perhaps we could have a corgi play date. Hope you all had a wonderful day.
Hi Mary, I am planning another meetup on Sat Nov 21. Same venue as last time - Hillside Park in Brooklyn. Hope you and Kaycee can make it! I've posted the event details on the NY Corgi page. It's also listed on my homepage.
