I love it. It is fun and I just adore this breed. I am also having another female shipped to me on Monday. I'm excited to meet her personally and start working on the bonding.

Hi Vikki, I don't think swimming comes naturally to corgis. It took us a long time to persuade our corgi to swim. Sometimes he would wade in the water just to cool off. What really got him going was our going into the water on rafts/inner tubes. Toddy's natural inclination is to herd us and it just drove him crazy running along the shoreline trying to catch up and barking like crazy. So one day he finally pushed off his back paws and swam out to us. It's so cute because he grunts when he does it. Well, I guess you'll have to wait a few months from now to try it since winter is almost upon us. Toby is adorable and seems very sweet. He certainly is well groomed too! Take care, Jayne & Toddy (our corgi)

That all depends on who you deal with. Its often better to pay alittle more from a reputable breeder that has nice stock. Get things in writing and make sure that everything is discussed and outlined either on paper or on their website. Check out a few sites to gain bits and pieces on what to ask the individual you plan on purchasing from. If your still not sure..when having pictures sent of that pup your interested in have them put a password on a piece of paper that is held just behind the pups head to show that indeed a pup they have and change the password w/each request of more pictures of pup or from breeders. This way its harder to photoshop a password on paper in the picture to have the dog in part of it. Ask for references...listen to the way that individual talks and don't hesitate to go look at the kennel or have pictures sent of the property.

Shiba's are cool. I have a heart for the Akita.

Cobi usually weighs about 28lbs, although he went to the vet recently and they said he was 32lbs, so I guess he has gained some weight. He has been having some problems and not getting his usual exercise.

What an adorable, sweet faced doll Miss Toby is.

I think it would be a challenge to train two of ANY dog at a time! But we had Cosmo about 2 years before we got Cody, so we didn't have to train them together. If anything, Cosmo helped show Cody "the ropes." For example, Cody learned how to use the pet door by following Cosmo's example. Cody learned a lot about our day-to-day routine simply by observing Cosmo. Corgis are smart, and they are eager to please, which is also a big help!

Toby's face reminds me of my dear sweet Courtney! Though she was to be my dog, she was my dad's dog. She would spend hours under his chair and desk while he worked. I understand how you feel. :)

My heart breaks for you!! I am SO SORRY to hear this.

Damn that lymphoma takes another dog! This is so wrong.
We also lost our Yardley to lymphosarcoma on December 12 after a 21 month (we thought, successful) battle. Your story sounds so similiar. Please contact me if you'd like to talk further.
