    Hi Chepstow!
We have been having some great weather here so haven't had a chance to write lately. We visited the Lake last weekend and had a great time. No boat rides yet tho..just getting things how we like them to be again and have to have a dock in the water to jump onto the boats. We are going to have a new dock to walk and run on this Summer and I can hardly wait!! We had some Thunderstorms last nite and I didn't get a good sleep because they make me nervous so I am going to have a long nap this afternoon. I hope you are having a good Spring! Love, Gem

  • Edward and Gemima

Hi guys!! I bet you are busy out on the pontoon this weekend!!! We made our first official trip out on our boat and to the Lake yesterday! Ed and Gem had a great time as did we all. Ed discovered a new game of trying to catch the bats at dusk. He just loved the beach and would just lay down in the water. Gem loved the boat, Ed not too sure of it at first but he warmed up to it pretty quickly! Our water temp is only 64 degrees right now, but they don't seem to mind that as much as we do!!! I think their favorite thing of all was licking all the plates after we were done with our BBQ!!!!!
  • Edward and Gemima

Hi!! Your family does sound like they are busy!! We got to ride on the Pontoon yesterday at the lake. I was made for the Pontoon kind of life and make myself comfortable, usually on a nice cushy seat. Ed stays on the floor. I swam around the pontoon this time with my dad. My Mom says it is too cold in the water but it was near 90 here so I thought it felt good. I also like floating around on the tube and having the girls pull me gently around in the water. Ed likes to chase them up and down the beach and play fetch in the water. We are really tired today from our weekend adventure...so we are going to lay around today and be lazy. Good to hear from you. We love Gardening and have been helping our Mom...probably a little too much!!! Gem
  • Edward and Gemima

Hello, we had a great weekend at the lake and are laying around a lot today. Edward rolled in a dead fish so he was super stinky til he got a bath. He likes to swim from the beach and fetch a stick in the water mostly. He is not as skilled as I am when it comes to having a life jacket 0n and mostly just rolls on his side in it...it is quite a site to see. I keep an eye on my Papa at all times and do not like him to take out the boat without me in it...then I just wait on the dock for him to come back. My mom doesn't get in the water as much as my Papa does but she's got some good treats for us when we need them. My family is going to JAX in June and Edward and I will stay home with my Auntie and Uncle and their full grown kids who we also just love to be with. I guess it will be OK but I will miss my family when they are gone. Well, gotta go my eyes are so sleepy today. Hope you had a fun Memorial day weekend!! Gem

the shedding is better! I think I have stopped for now.. but there is hair here and there every once in a while! hope you guys had fun with your guest tonight!
  • Jane Christensen

Are you near Rockwell??? What a kind offer! Thank-you!
  • Jane Christensen

We would leave here August 2nd(I hope) and it looks like driving time to Charlotte is 20 hours...that's where I first thought she was from! If it wouldn't be such a quick trip I would bring one of my own dogs along!
  • Jane Christensen

Thank you! I am hoping this will work but still need to find out more from the potential owner as to whether or not she will get one of my pups. I am hoping this will work and I would drive 15 hours or so the 1st day get to Rockwell earlier the 2nd day... (she might work...don't know) and then we could head over to your area...sounds like a great stopover and I wish we would have more time but my girlfriends sisiter in law has cancer so it may affect our trip. If it sounds like a go I will let you know and you could give me some motel names? Thanks and I'll let you know more when I do!
  • Carol Rea

Hello, I came to your page by way of Jane's. Your fur children are beautiful! Our first corgi boy was a red and white, bless his soul, and our current 2 are tris. I do think that from the pictures, yours are better mannered!! Our first was very well trained and mannered, but these 2 are rescues and a bit out to lunch, so to speak. I hope you and Jane "hook up" she and I have been commenting back and forth and figure if we ever get together "we will have way too much fun" I envy you getting to meet her. Carol, Lucky and Sonny
  • Carol Rea

I love your comment "if a tri can ever be normal" that is so true! I do love my two, would not trade them for anything, but oh!, they are tris and rescues! Sonny is starting to be with the family (it helps that I filled up the area that he used to go into, so now he doesn't have his "hole" but he his laying out with the family in the evening, or yesterday it was the watching of the septic "fun" from the porch!
  • Carol Rea

Yes, both are tris! Sonny is mostly sable, but his face is tri - I questioned the vet who called him a tri, because i was not sure if he really was one. I'm with you, I sure would like a merle. As far as septic...not only once, but I caught Lucky, the one in the cart, back at it - he was out of the cart, seal walked back out the hole that was still being filled in and rolled in the side pile and ate more "crunchies"! Luckily he did not fall in. Maybe stinky fish would be better...maybe not. Spent yesterday making diaper covers for Lucky in effort to spare the carpet, dogs with IVDD do hve their problems, but we do love him
  • Carol Rea

you are oh so wise! I have been looking at Sonny again after one of the blogs about what color a pup would be! Our vet is wrong, Sonny does not have a black saddle (sometimes I think he does, but I think I imagine it!) So, he is a sable like you thought! So much for that vet!! You asked about front carts...I think there is such a thing, there has been tale about modifying carts for some of the DM dogs, check out K9 carts when you have the need, I am pretty sure they are the ones doing the fronts
  • Carol Rea

I wish i could get mine to swim! Hydrotherapy would have helped Lucky, but he is deathly afraid of water. Jumping off things was almost as much fun as ball playing for Lucky! i am almost afraid that as he gets used to the wheels that he will decied he can go off his ramp sideways or something, just for old time sake. When you go to England, if you happen by Manchester, say hi to my friends there! I know that there "are just a few people" residing in Manchester! I sang in a concert choir in college that toured 5 weeks one summer - had a homestay in Manchester among other places, and then the folks I stayed with were touring USA and stayed with me in a homestay! Small world!
  • John Wolff

I wouldn't let a dog near a live lawnmower. I wear eye (and ear) protection when mowing -- people do get injuries -- and our neighbor's lawnmower kicked up a pebble that went through a narrow gap in the fence and shattered a side window on our car. Just a thought.
  • John Wolff

Ours ferociously attack the hose or the vacuum when it is on but show no interest in it at all when it is off.
  • Edward and Gemima

Hi Chepstow!! How I love to hear from you! We have had a busy Summer at the Lake swimming and pontooning. The weather has been hot but good for going to the Lake! My girls are getting ready to go back to school soon and my Mom is a little worried that Ed and I won't know what to do with ourselves when they are not home all day long. It will definitely be more quiet around here. I learned how to please the girls this Summer by rolling over when they want me to, but Ed still doesn't get it!!! He had to have 1 yr shots and check up the other day and they did something with his behind(anal glands to be specific whatever those are)All I know is he was happy to see me when he got home and he does smell a little better these days!! Hope you and Tenby can get out soon in some cooler weather...we are actually looking forward to Fall here. Yours Truly, Gem
  • Oliver and Libby

    Thnaks!
  • Jane Christensen

Thanks! I hope Livvy waits till sat. as I have to work some the next 2 days! At least it's cooler! Livvy keeps looking bigger everyday...I hope that doesn't mean a ton of pups! Are you back from your vacation? At least I thought you were going someplace??? We have the same deer antlers!
  • Jane Christensen

Thanks Roger and Laurie! Livvy and babes are doing very well! I think we'll have all red/white maybe a slight sable or 2 but for the same parents the coloring is very different this time! Livvy started playing ball again today...very lightly but she is so obssessed with balls that she would go out and look at me like she was saying"where's my ball and why aren't you throwing it???" Hope you're having a great weekend...I've been trying to get outside work done since it's finally not 90+ degrees out!
  • Jane Christensen

Thanks...for being so nice! We appreciated the invitation to spend some time with you when we thought we were going to NC and all your lovely comments!
  • Carol Rea

He would eat the tomatoes too, if he could get into the raised beds! Mike caught him trying and sent him scurrying away. I'm worried about him the last 2 days, he is so lethargic that he didn't even come into the kitchen when I was having a snack or making dinner!! This is not the Sonny we have come to know and love!
  • Carol Rea

Thank you for the friend request, i did not notice it earlier! I must be half asleep, or paying attention to Lucky barking his crazy Tri head off - he objects to the birds out in the yard, as near as I can tell. The quail have had more babies (I hope they make it, this is late!) and he likes to let them know he is boss. Harmless, but annoying. Do corgis really shed in the lake? Why not, they shed everywhere else!
  • Carol Rea

Thank you for checking, I am worried! I cannot put my finger on anything, and at least he is still eating - then we would be at the vet in an instant! He just seems to be moping, like a teen in love. No bird chasing, which like yours is a favorite - today he is on the porch sleeping. He had been eating the remains of the thistle seed that drops from the feeder and snuffleling bird seed from under the other feeders. If it goes on, we will go to the vet.
  • Jane Christensen

    Hi Laurie and Roger,

Thanks for thinking of us! Things are crazy including work and I whine alot! Sage and I are going to her 1st Ren Fest on Sat., the pups should open their eyes...today and Tues. Sage and I start her 2nd round of classes but winter will be here soon and I'm looking forward to some forced vacations due to storms! I really hope that someday we can visit NC!
  • Laurie Jo

Thank you very much. Sorry,I'm unable to attend that one we have other commitments that day, thanks for letting us know. Love the pics!!!
  • Laurie Jo

It does sound like a fun time!! I'll be looking forward to it. Thanks again!
  • Edward and Gemima

Bad News here in Mn...our lake is 9 ft above flood stage and we have been back and forth trying to keep our boat and pontoon, etc bailed out. Our little place remained dry other than storage underneath, but many have water in lower and upper levels of home/cabins. We had 10 inches of rain at the lake and over 6in here at our home where we had to sandbag. Our house is dry as well so we are very fortunate. Our lake neighbors have never seen it like that out there. I have to keep the Corgis out of the yard as we have standing flood water there yet.

  • Jane Christensen

The babes are doing fabulous! They are starting to eat and I made their pen bigger this week but "oh no" they climb out of their new fence but are still contained to the bathroom which looks more like a barn right now...this weekend if not b/4 they will to my dining room to learn new noises etc.

As for the flooding...we aren't too bad here there were 3 roads closed for a bit but my daughter lives closer to Ed and Gemima and although their house is ok...they town had major flooding! Even St.Paul is starting to sanbag...I hear! We have about 15,000lakes I think instead of the 10,000...the farmers are not going to have an easy harvest with all the mud!
  • Jane Christensen

MMMMM-cheese dip....I love food, what does ir have in it??? I made apple crisp last night but the real one I like I didn't have my recipe book here! Bummer! Do you have a Siamese cat? They're my faves...I've had 2 mixes and love them!
We had our goat die yesterday...he thought he was a dog...we got him castrated last week and he never bounced back....both my husband and I said we would have left him small had we known he would die!

I moved the pups to the dining room last night! They are doing very well and my bathroom was getting too crowded!
Enjoy the rain...glad someone else is getting it!
  • Shirley M.

Thank you for the Welcome! It is such a small world : )
  • Edward and Gemima

Hi guys, we are drying out here nicely, but many have a lot of devastation and work ahead of them. I lost a couple weeks with all that flooding going on. The corgis are busy shedding all over the place and I can't keep up with the vacuuming. The other day I had just vacuumed off our couch and Ed got up there for a pet from my daughter and left a whole pile of fur as if he was pleased about it!! It is definitely falling as quickly as the leaves as you mentioned. Hope you are enjoying your Fall.
  • Edward and Gemima

Hi Chepstow, We have had a busy Holiday season here too! We had a great Christmas with many new chewies and toys and then we got to stay with my Mom and Dads niece and nephew who are home from college while the family went to Wisconsin Dells water park for 2days. We got lots of treats and attention, but were glad to have them back home. Mom caught a bad cold, so we have been snuggling with her a bit more then usual. We have lots of snow here to play in and now it is going to rain and be icy over New years. Have a great New Year!! Gem
  • Bev Levy

I am a Garth fan too. Years ago when he came to East Lansing the phones lines all crashed because so many people tried to call for tickets at the same time. Hope your winter is going well!
  • Victoria Jackson

Thanks - we just got home from the beach!  I love your pic with the cat - dont think Gypsy would do that! Unfortunately we had to train her to chase cats away as they came in to get our chooks and rabbit  - talk again soon
  • Edward and Gemima

Happy Valentines Day to the only one for me........Chepstow. Love Gem
  • Jane Christensen

I many times give up on mine...as the minute they hear the camera they decide to stop what was sooooo cute!
  • LIZ KEITH

North Carolina Corgi picnic?! I have never heard of the event! I can't wait to show up this year.. Your two babies are precious :) :)
  • Amy Rehnstrom

Oh your corgis are soooooooooo adorable!  Thanks for the welcome!  Hope it's alot warmer in North Carolina than it is in Iowa!
  • Bev Levy

Lol, maybe it is a "Tri Trait" ! Sparty blows out his cheeks with little woofs and it is hard to stay mad because he looks so silly. He usually is in trouble for thinking he gets to control a situation such as growling when some one is leaving the house or bossing Misty and the cats around. He has a bit of a God Complex!
  • Carol Rea

Help!  I am being held hostage away from the computer by a husband that retired too soon!  It is too cold for him to work in his pole barn so he is managing me.  (he was a manager at HP for 30 yrs before moving here & becoming a technician)  He went to work today to "help out"  Thank God!  We are having cold and snow, I am ready for Spring - had a little warmth, tulips started up in the pots and Sonny at them (of course) Lucky is trying to walk again!  "Kerthump, kerthump, PLOP"   He does it after the lights go out.  We did find something that Sonny will chase, 1st and only thing - snowballs!  Had plenty of them for him, then tries to bring them inside.  Corgis, they are so much fun.  Hope you have lots of good weather!!  I am going to need to make a trip to MD to see my parents, both are failing.  Don't know what will do with the boys.
  • JDR

I know what you mean. His nose has slowly become darker. I will forever love that pink and spotted nose!
  • Jane Christensen

I really do want a red headed tri Laurie:) Unfortunately I just put my $ away for Zip my overweight Corgi project and  the same amount for a LARGE fence project and am hoping he will be up to date on his shots (I asked them to be). I also have 4 barn kitties that all need some shots and spay/neutering ...so I guess I'll have to pass:(

How have you been? I have meant to message you but it's been a long snowy winter and busy as well! I still would like to someday visit your area of the country...I hope to take a year off from breeding and just enjoy the dogs I have....and Zip! What have you been up to???
