About Me:
Had a corgi, Asta, purchased from a registered breeder as a first dog; hubby never had a dog and wanted to be able to see the parents so we went that route. We had to help her cross the bridge at age 11 due to cancer. Our second corgi, Sophie, was a rescue girl from Lakeshore PWCs; we had to help her cross the bridge at age 11 also due to cancer. New puppy Poppy is from a breeder; this is the last baby puppy we will have the energy for!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Asta - My first tricolor corgi. Very smart, not too good with other dogs but great with people, esp. kids. Used to take her to school with me. Loved to swim in the lake to retrieve her tennis ball. Had grandpa trained to throw her ring toy as soon as he walked in the door. We had to help her across the bridge due to an aggressive cancer five years ago. Still miss her.
Sophie - My second tricolor corgi. Very sweet, very ladylike, rather shy. Rescue girl; came with lots of odd behaviors/issues but got much better. Would NOT get wet if she had any say. Had seizures which are pretty well controlled with meds. Did not seem to know how to play with toys but loved to chase and herd other dogs. Dxd with lymphoma, underwent chemo, was in remission for a year before it came back. Had to help her cross the bridge in 2015. Heartbroken.
Poppy- new puppy in fall 2016. Sassy, sweet, smart. Enjoying watching her explore the house and yard. UPDATE: At a year old, she had grown into quite a pretty little lady; she is very petite. She is also very smart and loves to learn "lessons." Still likes to yell at the neighbor dachshunds a little too much, and doesn't know when to leave the bigger dogs at the dog park alone. A wonderful snuggler.

    HI Chris, it sounds like you and Sophie had a great summer! I do enjoy taking Sidney to outdoor cafes.
    I don't really know what the gift thing is all about. I don't put any money into them. I suspect it's a way for the people who design the program (not mycorgi specifically but all ning sites) to acquire revenue.
  • Queenie

    queenie was on keflex and an antihistamine. vet says it wasnt the meds. she had a small piece of ham monday night. believe that was the cause

    Hi Chris!
    Well depending on what time of year it is I have 7 adults of which 3 are rescues. Two of my rescues live at a house that I work at but due to some issues between the 2, Teddy is at my home for now and I am hoping to find Jackson a new home as Teddy is older and experiencing some minor health problem and he's one of my heart dogs as is Wiley another rescue of mine. We have 12 acres for them to run and play and enjoy life! I have a pup from last year that lives near Milwaukee and several other pups in Wisc also! I keep in contact with most of my puppy owners. Joanna,Rainy and Calvin on MyCorgi has one of my rehomed dogs because she needed a place with less dogs and now is a princess and they also Calvin a Cardi rescue of mine. I know life would be much quieter with a few less but that's not an option!

    I see Sophie doesn't like toys either...I believe that when they grow up not learning what they are they don't like them as well! Do you know much about her past? She is beautiful!
  • Jane Christensen

    Wynn sounds like Asta...he always learned that quick and he was/is our 1st. My husband who never wanted a corgi has grown into a corgi lover also!

    This spring I was suppose to get a female rescue from a breeder but it didn't happen. My 3 rescues are from a puppy mill in Iowa.

    If you accept my friend request then we could also send messages!

    My husband complains but is always worried if we're gone too long . I forgot to say we have a big Aussie also and that dog goes everywhere with him!
