I got to thinking about your post again and really thought hard about when we brought Lance home and how he behaved......it did take Lance time to warm up to my husband and even sometimes myself.......when we went to go pet him, he would back away from us, making us think that he didnt like us! We came to the conclusion after a while that he just didnt like getting petted, but after awhile he came around and is just now enjoying to be petted, where he will sit while you pet him, he just seemed to have no interest in that for a long time, but he always did like playing though. Corgi personalities are the best! It takes time to figure them out. Lance would also sit on the couch opposite of me and if I looked at him he would look away from me....what a stinker! I think corgis tend to bond with the people they are with the most, but most definately can bond to more than one person. Involvement I believe is a huge key in this. Gordy will be fine with everyone after a while, I am sure he is still adjusting, it is a big adjustment to be away from their doggies families. I hope I didnt talk to much...lol Our breeder gave us wonderful advice which was to get them used to as many different situations as you can....example ...you wearing a baseball cap....if Gordy doesnt see you wearing one when he is a pup he may not like it when you do wear one or if he sees someone else wears one he may not like it!!!!! Little things like that, we take for granted but it takes puppies time to get used to it all gloves, hat, scarves, sunglasses...etc...etc.....yelling running screaming kids.....lol!! Seriously if they arent around it they dont learn how to handle it....sometimes I think it is harder to socialize puppies/dogs than it is kids! Have fun with Gordy, corgis are the best!!!
