Buckley's folks

Profile Information:

Hometown:
St. Catharines
About Me:
I grew up with multiple corgis in the household. Corky the rescued fluffy was the first. Then my parents welcomed first Scout, then Rodeo, and then finally along came sweet miss Sofy. Three corgis at a time was active and overwhelming, but oh so much fun. Sofy passed away last year at the grand old age of 12. I long ago moved out of the family home, but always knew that when the time came to welcome a dog into my life, there would be no question about which breed I would choose. It would have to be a Pembroke! I waited a long time for my little guy to come into the world, and my life has been forever more changed by this four-legged bundle of happiness named Buckley. I met my now fiance a few months after bringing Buckley home, and I have to tell you, I think that little fat, mischievious puppy was a huge attraction for my dog-loving fiance! He is now a full-fledged corgi lover, much as I am. There really is no other breed of dog that can possibly compare!
About My Corgi(s):
My red corgi is named Buckley, but somewhere along the way, earned the nickname Monsieur, which makes him sound much more dignified than he is at 20 months. He is headstrong, clever, stubborn, and mischevious --- everything a corgi should be! Buckley has a permanent twinkle in his eye, a happy grin on his face, and a soft spot for nightly puppy cuddles with 'mom'. Quite simply...the best dog around!

    The limp is gone. I cut his nails, etc today and was handling his paw and leg a lot and he was fine. Hopefully it was just a flukey thing and won't reoccur. I don't know much about pet insurance except the breeder said not to bother with it...however, people here seem to think it is a good thing...hard to know.

    PS What is a dog park? I hear about it all the time on this site. I thought it was something American but I guess we have them in Canada too. Is it something special or just a regular park and people take their dogs as they walk? Thanks, Joy
