I'm 46, in Minnesota and just got married last October. I'm in the Health Insurance business, but am currently working in the Hotel business as a front desk representative. I LOVE to travel and have been to many places. My favorite car is a convertible, though I have never owned one because of where I live.
About My Corgi(s):
I just became a Corgi owner on 10/12/08 after having to put down my 15 year old German Shepard/Malamute dog that I had since 1993...It tore me up, but she lost all usage of her hind quarters after suffering some form of a stroke in her spinal column. I found my Corgi named Buddy on Craigslist.org on 10/12/08 and upon going to see this cute 2 1/2 year old dog, I brought him home. He is a Pembroke Corgi and silly as a goose...lol He likes to play BALL all day if he could, and also likes to play hide and seek and finds every little corner to hide himself and his little bones in...lol The only problem I seem to be having with him at the moment is that I cannot get him to go to the bathroom in our back yard, and I'm sure it's because he smells my other Dog all over back there, so if ANYONE has any ideas on how I can undo this, please feel free to tell me, as our winter month's are coming upon us here, and I really need him to be able to just go out our back door and down 2 steps, instead of having to bundle up in the dead of winter to take him away from his yard. Thank you to anyone at all that can help me out with this poor little guy.

    Hi Jewels, do you have any Buddy's info from his previous owner? why was he not potty trained before? any past history would help. So since he joined your family, could you tell me what you've tried with him? how many family members, how are the dynamics?

    Hi Jewels, if I hear you correctly, you're trying to teach buddy to no.2 in the backyard right? First thing first, his potty training will need to be schedule, same time of the day to go out. In order to do that, buddy will need to be fed same time of the day, as an adult corgi, he should eat either once or twice a day, and should poop once or twice a day. Exercise him and walk him daily will encourage bowel movement. With my dogs, my younger one would poop first thing in the morning and at 5pm when we go for a 40 min walk, for my older one, he does no poop in the morning and will only do that during our 5pm walk, he is a clean freak and will not poop in our own yard. So in your case, it could be just a personality thing, or may be when buddy was with his first owner, they didn't supervise him and made sure that he pooped before playing, in another words, he was distracted. When a dog changed environment, he does go through some stress and bowel movement will somewhat takes time to adjust, so give it time, look at it more like a jet lag and in no time he'll adjust his behavior to your lifestyle.     Just saying hi to Duluth corgis. I left there in 1976, but my bro still lives on Park Point. Have you tried a soccer ball with Buddy? A water polo ball is even better, about the right size, and much lighter.
