    hmmm well i did see an add somewhere... it was either in the "houston press" or houston jobs.com..... one was for a vet tec but you need 2 years exp. and the other was at a groomers. I saw today that Radio Shack and Marshals are both hiring. for the shack go to their website and for marshals go to texas workforce. Marshals is opening a new store so you might have a better chance there. I also saw a few places hiring on westheimer going towards the downtown area. Hang in there. :)

    I am a teaching major at UHD... maybe teaching could pay the bills for you until the economy gets better. I believe that HISD has a program where you teach while they pay for you to simultaneously get your teaching certificate. All you need is a bachelors. I have not researched this for myself, this is just grapevine info.
