Arizona has some of the best flat-land trails in the nation. My personal recommendation would be hiking the trails around the Sedona area. It's some of the most beautiful country anywhere, and it's toward the Northern part of the state, so it's a wee bit cooler than where we are....You still need to be vigilant of critters, aftre all they were here first and aren't going to leave any time soon...lol

Wow. I'd love to take a dog down to SE Utah, but I've always been afraid of all those well-armed plants and critters... I'll have to check out Arizona.
