Ponyo is doing very well. We've taken her on lots of trips with us this year, she's a very good travel dog. She still only tolerates the rabbit, and occasionally antagonizes her, which earns her a thump to the face from Butters' impressive hindquarters.



We've had four baby chickens in a brooder in the living room for a week now, and Ponyo is simultaneously curious and afraid. She wants to check them out sooooo bad, but as soon as I let one out for her to sniff at, she runs away. I…

When Ponyo was rescued from an animal hoarder, where she had been free fed and also given table scraps, she weighed 27lbs, which on her tiny frame was quite fat. The vet that her rescuers took her to determined that since she's actually a bit of a runt she should be around 20lbs. So...Ponyo has decided that the carpet just on the other side of the couch is where she gets to poop. She is sadly mistaken. Sgt. Husband thinks we need to re-housebreak her. She'll pee outside just fine, but has taken to pooping in that one spot of the living room. So today is my birthday(why yes, Harry Houdini and I share a birthday, jealous? We also share it with Clyde Barrow, double jealous?). Yesterday my angora breeder let me know her doe had kits, so in a couple weeks we'll be bringing an adorable baby bunny to our new house.

The new house is big, beautiful, and has a big fenced backyard, and allows dogs! I'm so excited. Once again the epic quest for a Pacific Northwest corgi begins.

4. Friend passed from cancer.

5. Aunt's cancer is terminal.
