Leash Laws and E-Collars

My town allows for electronic collars to be used in the place of a leash on public property. While I am not advocating e-collars or letting a dog off leash in the town proper, there are many open…Continue

Joint Supplements

I'm thinking of putting Kaylee on joint supplements to make sure she can be active for a long time to come. She is 1.5 yrs old with not previous health or joint problems. So, what are your favorite…Continue

Does anyone here play Treibball?

Kaylee's love of her new exercise ball got me interested in Treibball. Does anyone here play the sport? If so, what are your thoughts on getting started and the community?Continue

Adult Dog Perks

Kaylee is almost 1.5 years old, but still sleeps in a closed crate and is gated in the kitchen when my husband and I are at work. I was wondering at what aged/maturity level other owners allowed…Continue

Goodbye, Little One.

Posted on November 24, 2016 at 2:01pm 13 Comments

Hey all,

Please forgive me writing this, but I think it's my way of dealing with the grief. It's been a hard two weeks. Last night, we had to say good bye to our precious little girl. She would have turned 5 on New Years this year. It's far too short of a time. And the whole thing just doesn't seem fair.

We did our best to keep the little one healthy and happy. Vet check-ups, tooth brushing, exercise and a good diet. She was at a good weight with no issues.…

Kaylee is Limping

Posted on November 1, 2013 at 9:51pm 1 Comment

The little mudbutt started limping this morning and not putting much weight on her left foot. Since it has continued into the evening (after being cooped up all day), tomorrow we visit the vet.

Here's hoping the groomer cut her nails too short or she sprained a muscle at daycare yesterday.

The missing cow

Posted on January 22, 2013 at 4:02pm 2 Comments

Last night I had difficulty sleeping, so I went to the living room to see if a change of venue would help. Kaylee sleeps in our bedroom, but I didn't bother to move her since she and my husband were sleeping soundly.

This morning Kaylee wakes up and sits near the bed where I am normally. She is whining to my husband that something is wrong and one of her cows is missing. (My husband and I refer to ourselves as Kaylee's cows.) Of course, when he finally convinces her to check in the…

Two Days, One Corgi and 1,200 Miles

As I mentioned a little while ago, my husband and I planned a trip to visit his family in Houston by car, so we could bring Kaylee along with us and hopefully spend a bit less on transportation and boarding. We live in Blacksburg, VA so flying requires at least one layover plus 3 hrs by car for a one-way trip and would likely take a full day anyways. Needless to say the layover and winter temperatures would preclude Kaylee from joining us on a trip by air anyways. So on the road it…

Hello, I wanted to answer the question you had about Fae's rather unusual color patterns. As far as we know her dad is 100% corgi, and her mother is either 50%corgi, 50% Swedish Vallhund, or 100% Vallhund. We are pretty sure the mother is only half Vallhund, must of Fae's litter mates were typical corgi's, red and white like the dad, but Fae is very much the color and markings of a Vallhund, except her white markings which are very corgi! She is unique and I am so glad we got her.

Madoc would love to play with a new corgi friend!  Kaylee is such a lovely cardi!  Madoc is a Dalarno corgi, but his father has a Triple H parent.  Are you at VT?

Wow, Triple H is really something! Such beautiful dogs. No wonder Kaylee is so gorgeous!
