I had wanted a corgi for a number of years.  My sis has a mix and she is the best dog in the world.  I finally got the chance in Dec. 2010.  A local shelter had a red/blonde 5 year old ready for a…Continue

My female corgi, Roxi, is a 6 year old rescue.  I've had her for over a year and while some behaviors have been moderated (with the help of a finally overburdened larger brother), she still despises…Continue

About Me:
I am owned by my lady pembroke, my retriever mix, 2 cats, 2 birds, 2 saltwater tanks and my husband. He who understands anything technical, birds, and has learned a tremendous amount regarding saltwater tanks but hasn't a clue why dogs and cats do what they do. Oh, and 2 in-laws who provide the pets with endless entertainment.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
A beautiful red/blonde(to me) pem who wants to be in the middle of everything. We adopted her from HALO in sebastian. She has some emotional issues (from her past?) that result in behavioral issues. Other than that, typical loving pem. Tries to rule the house, wants to eat everything, disembowels all toys and is always underfoot because she wants to be everyone at the same time (although kitchen people are much more interesting).
I have:

Shaving is life saving!

Posted on September 2, 2012 at 2:00am 2 Comments

I live in Vero Beach and my Roxi is a much happier dog after she's been to the groomer.  I have her and her brother (a retriever/chow mix that sheds more than any corgi I've seen) bathed and shaved.  Rox rolls around, plays more and just seems to be much more comfortable, even though she's an indoor dog.  Plus side...the vacuuming of course.  Down side?  Just make sure to leave some fur around the nub.  Shave that area and it's just not a pretty sight.
