<p>So....... My mom has a black lab named Isabell and she is kind of small; only about 45 pounds. And she also has a long haired chihuahua named Lupe (Loo-PAY). Well, when Isabell was in heat, Lupe got her while she was under the bed. <p>So....... My mom has a black lab named Isabell and she is kind of small; only about 45 pounds. And she also has a long haired chihuahua named Lupe (Loo-PAY). Well, when Isabell was in heat, Lupe got her while she was under the bed. My mom has always been great about keeping them apart but Lupe gets crazy and slipped through my mom's legs as she was walking into her bedroom where Isabell was lying helplessly under the bed. Those of you who know about breeding know about them getting stuck and that is what happened when Lupe got ahold of her. He is only 15 pounds. So, my mom was worried about it and Isabell didn't seem to be getting any bigger, no nipple enlargement, just snarky behavior. Well, today she went into labor. She still hasn't had any pups but she is swollen and her nipples are ready for puppies. My mom already has a zoo coming in with now 4 dogs in the house due to her newest edition, Falco, her new black German Shepherd puppy. Also, 3 cats in the house and 2 dogs outside. Oh, goodness. We once had our two female shepherds get pregnant by our male a week apart. We had a grand total of 17 puppies and 4 adult dogs. Oh, geesh! I have been waiting patiently to get the call so I can go be there. I would be stationed there but I am puppy sitting and I don't want to leave him locked up any longer than he has to be. Well all, wish us luck! Iz will be a good mommy. She's always mothered all the animals even the black kitten my mom had that Iz thought was her puppy.</p>
<p></p>
<p>Oh and to anyone who knows, can anyone tell me some sre signs of labor and when to worry? My mom is a nervous wreck becaquse Isabell hasn't moved and her water hasn't broke yet.</p>
<p>Thanks</p>

So, I really need to vent and I'm sure I need to just have a good cry and get it over with. I have more patience with animals than I do with anything else in the world. I went to puppy sit my mom's new German shepherd puppy yesterday and he was a TERROR! It was kind of disappointing because I was looking forward to it and it turned out to be a bad day. Copper and Pooh were seriously the best puppies EVER! My mom's new puppy would not stop peeing and pooping in the house. I would take him outside and try to get him to go and he would bite some flowers, chew on some grass but would not go potty. We walk into the house, he's literally peeing four feet inside the door. This was an all day occurrence. I thought I was going to lose it. So now, I am puppy sitting for my aunt who left for Vegas today and he is bigger than Cop and has more energy than any other dog I have ever seen. Copper is like the role model dog and he just knows what to do. Jasper (the dog I'm puppy sitting) just would not quit and when I would say "enough", Cop would go lay in his crate like "ok, ma". Jasper, who is also supposed to be potty trained, already peed a lake on my floor. The frustration is getting deeper and deeper. I understand he is in a new place but my lord. I am going to go stay at my aunt's house through the weekend so he is at home but I can't tonight because I would have to be right back here in the morning. I'm just losing my patience so easy and it's not like me. I think it is time for a vacation away from everyone including my boyfriend who has also been wearing me thin lately. It's like everything is just getting to me and I'm not sure why. I think it has just been an overload of things and I'm not sure how much more before I just lose it.<div><br/></div>
<div>Here is a picture of Jasper, he is a Bernese mountain dog/ shepherd/black lab/bulldog.... what a combination right?<img width="721" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3149018163?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" alt=""/></div>

break out the laser. lol I have been sick and feeling bad for Copper because he has been bored. I take him over to my dad's and let him play over there for a bit while I rest but he's used to us always going. So, I made him a toy out of a 1L bottle. cut some holes in it and put some treats in it. He LOVES it. I also found that him chasing the laser means that I don't have to get out of bed while I'm not feeling good and he's not bored and he gets exercise. Oh the technology we have today lol…

My boyfriend, Scott, loves Cop but has never had a dog that he had to take care of by himself so I was worried. I left a <b><u>LONG</u> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: normal;">list of things Scott needed to know and take care of like taking him outside every couple hours, how much to feed Cop and not to ignore him. It's not that I didn't have faith, just wanted to be sure. I got two picture messages a day without asking for them (of Copper), updates, and lots of gloating from Scott. He called me the one night to tell me he was worried because Copper hadn't pooped since 4 pm and then he got up at midnight and took him out again when Scott had to be up at 4am for work. He texted me at 8am to make sure my stepmom was up and had let him out to see if he had pooped yet. I tried to tell him he only poops twice a day now and to stop worrying, he didn't. lol I missed Copper probably more than I missed Scott which is terrible but I admit it. He's my baby. I take care of everything and I was worried. My previous corgi, Pooh, wouldn't eat when I left and I was terrified Copper was going to be the same way. He wasn't. Scott said he did get sadder by the day and would get on the bed and drag my pillow and sleep with it. AWWW. I came home yesterday to surprise both of them since I wasn't supposed to be home til Wednesday. I had to come home early due to the fact my best friends father died. :( I got home and ran next door to get Cop from my dad's house and as soon as I opened the door I screamed "BABY!!!!" He was SOOOOO Happy to see me he started choking because he was panting so hard. He still hasn't let me out of his sight. He has been all over me and even though I know Scott and Cop have bonded, He's still a mama's boy and that makes me even more happy. Don't get me wrong, I want Copper to love Scott and be close to him but I love being the favorite!</span></b>Hopefully saved a lifetag:mycorgi.com,2010-03-07:1150197:BlogPost:6273802010-03-07T19:30:00.000ZAshley and Copperhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/AshleyVincent
So, yesterday me and my boyfriend were going to do laundry. The laundry mat right up the road from us was packed so we decided that we would go to the one in the next town over and try that one. As we were driving through town, (which is very small) there was a little Jack Russell running through the road. I'm so proud of my boyfriend because I think I have been rubbing off on him. Before I could even say anything, he asked if we should pick it up. I pulled into the gas station where she ran…

As we were driving through town, (which is very small) there was a little Jack Russell running through the road. I'm so proud of my boyfriend because I think I have been rubbing off on him. Before I could even say anything, he asked if we should pick it up. I pulled into the gas station where she ran and I asked a guy if it was his dog. He said no, so we picked her up, she was a little older but so sweet and very docile. I called my vet which is located just down the road and asked if I could bring her there to see if they recognized her because she had no collar. She had to be someone's pet and they called around to all their Jack Russell owners and no luck. I didn't want to see her go to the shelter but I knew nothing about her and I was leaving last night to go to a motocross show and wasn't sure how long we'd be gone. So what was I going to do? Everyone at my vet's is so sweet and my favorite girl says that her boyfriend works at the shelter and that she will keep me updated! I'm very happy and I guess Jack Russell's go quickly. I'm very happy. If she stays in there too long, I will probably go get her and Scott wanted to keep her. I dunno, just breaks my heart. I'm just glad she didn't get hit by a car!thought this was cute!tag:mycorgi.com,2010-02-26:1150197:BlogPost:6220252010-02-26T16:35:26.000ZAshley and Copperhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/AshleyVincent

I live in northeastern Ohio and I'm sure everyone knows this as the snow belt. Well, I got news! I'm moving! lol I don't know where to yet but I'm sick of this. It is literally a blizzard outside right now and Copper thinks it is the most opportune time to go out and bite, eat and play with the snow. I tried to explain that he is not a baby polar bear, I am not a mama polar bear or an eskimo!<div><br></br></div>

<div>I also wanted to share this funny story to see if anyone else has corgi play like I do. My boyfriend gets up around 4am to get ready and go to work, so he is normally in bed by 9. Well lately, me and Cop have decided that we can no longer sit still for that long as I am a night owl and he is ready to play always! So the past couple nights we have had quiet play between 10p-12a. I try to keep him quiet and try to control myself by not laughing out loud at him because he is quite the character. So last night, I get down on the floor to cuddle him for a bit and he wants to play. I don't know about everyone else but he (like Pooh did) self entertains. He will run around like crazy, throw his toy for himself and the other day I was doing homework, he came over jumped towards the bed and whipped his toy at me. I thought "gee, not so subtle huh?" lol So he grabs his keys (my grandma bought him puppy teething keys that I thought was stupid at the time but turns out they are his favorite toy, go figure! lol) and brings them to me and wants to play. So we are playing then I grab his bunny and he wants that but is trying to figure out a way to get it without dropping the keys (typical kid). So then I'm moving my hand real slow to each toy and he is trying to prohibit me from getting to any of his toys. He did not want to share! So I'm trying not to laugh too hard because like me, dad (my bf) is not a happy camper when he gets woke up. Ok, understandable, I guess lol. So then he starts hoarding them and sitting on all he can cover so I can't get em and pouncing like a cat on my hand if I try to touch any of them. I grabbed them all and threw them apart and he was okay with this until he thought I was going to get them again. It was so cute how he was acting and I know it's not when actual children do this to siblings or other but it just goes to show that they are a lot smarter than most people think. Has anyone had issues of the not sharing kind? I think it's rather funny.</div>Proud mama and also a tip for book & dog lovers alike!tag:mycorgi.com,2010-02-20:1150197:BlogPost:6190602010-02-20T18:59:10.000ZAshley and Copperhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/AshleyVincent
It's a whopping 35 degrees here in my town on Ohio today. It's so sunny though and I had to run up to the store. I asked Cop if he wanted to go and of course. Was I crazy thinking he would want to miss one small thing I did or him not getting a cookie from the guy at the store? No way; he was not missing out on this! The next door neighbors grandkids were out and Cop was a little nervous at first doing what I call the half bark. As soon as I said it's okay Cop, he was licking faces and taking…

The next door neighbors grandkids were out and Cop was a little nervous at first doing what I call the half bark. As soon as I said it's okay Cop, he was licking faces and taking names.lol It makes me so happy that he is so good with kids. He does get too excited sometimes and knock them down but we are working on that. Everyone thinks he is so cute and is always impressed with his manners and behavior. The kids LOVED him and I'm happy for that but he had to go potty and I didn't want him doing that where they were playing. Ha His little knub was going a mile a minute! I love that!!!!<div><br/></div>
<div>I also wanted to let the book lovers know that I am currently reading a book called "Dog on it" and I highly recommend it. It is not a corgi but it is a book written in the dog's point of view and his owner is a detective. It's so cute! Just thought I would add that so anyone could enjoy it as much as I am.</div>

So my boy is losing his baby teeth. This is new to me as I never found any of my first corgi, Pooh's teeth. I have found three. His canine's and another one. The first one I found was on the pillow next to my face when I woke up. lol I told him if he wants the tooth fairy to bring him a cookie, he has to put it under his pillow. lol He's getting bigger day by day and although I loved him when he was little because of the out of control cuteness, I love him more everyday because he is getting…
So my boy is losing his baby teeth. This is new to me as I never found any of my first corgi, Pooh's teeth. I have found three. His canine's and another one. The first one I found was on the pillow next to my face when I woke up. lol I told him if he wants the tooth fairy to bring him a cookie, he has to put it under his pillow. lol He's getting bigger day by day and although I loved him when he was little because of the out of control cuteness, I love him more everyday because he is getting more character. He is forming himself and learning that you have to be a smart ass to survive around here and he does quite well. lol I did just read a blog by someone who has still been grieving over the loss of his corgi. Got me to thinking about Pooh. I miss him so much it hurts sometimes but it gets better with the days. I hear some people say that a dog isn't a kid. Well, obviously. But ya know what I think? I think if you want the dog to be your kid then it is. I do not have children but Pooh was as close as it came to me. A child depends on the parent to teach them things, so does a dog. A child depends on a parent to teach them how to use the potty, so does a dog. A child needs a parent to take them to the doctor when they are sick, so does a dog. When I lost Pooh, I lost my mind. I'm not kidding. I'm a very non-emotional type of woman who does not cry in front of people, does not show sadness and when I lost Pooh, I broke down in front of a lot of people who never knew I had that side. Pooh was MY kid. he may not have been human but who is anyone to say he wasn't my baby? Does anyone know what I mean? I had so many people say I over-reacted, say that I was being dramatic, that it wasn't THAT big of a deal. Well, ya know what I said to them? Go to hell. Most people do not truly know what it is like to truly love an animal. My life would be so boring without one. The longest I had ever gone in my life without an animal was 2 months before Pooh. After I lost him, it was almost 10 before I could suck it up and decide it was time. It was hard at first because Copper did a lot that Pooh did but I learned to love him, not the same but in a way that was for him. Now, some people who love their animals might still think I was crazy but ya know what? I took Pooh with me EVERYWHERE! He stayed the night with me when I went somewhere, he went in the car with me everywhere. Everyone knew and loved him. When I moved out into my own place, there was no doubt he was coming with me and he did and he loved it. I would threaten to fight people over him. People that would come to my house and say mean things about him being ugly or fat ( which he was neither) or getting him drunk when I was at work. That ended badly for the person who did it. For the longest time, I felt empty, like something was missing, like I would never be happy like that again. He truly was my life for a long time. I dunno. Just got me thinking. This is to anyone who has ever been laughed at for loving, spoiling, crying, being obsessed over or just talking about their dog. I talked about Pooh all the time. I remember one day at work this woman was talking about the funny things her daughter did. I start sharing things about Pooh. So, to me, Yeah, he was my kid. I would love to hear people's thoughts or venting on this one. If you have anything negative to say about anything I said, please refrain. This is for the good times and the dogs and people who have felt the stupidity of non-animal people.
