Ok so I am not the kind of person who gets hung up on labels for the most part. But like every woman here and there I allow a quick splurge. My label items can be itemized in three (and two of those are not even REAL labels)

1 pair of channel glasses with special anti-glare lenses that I used for work all the time because my eyes never get tired of the screen with them

1 pair of Armani Exchanges sunglasses which are to die for and that I love so much.
Caesar has decided he LOVES labels. I was taking a nap and woke up to *chomp chomp chom* very familiar sound. I went to grab the Chanels and noticed they were no longer on the night stand. When I went to check out on Caesar, there they were... my favorite pair of glasses torn to pieces as Caesar frapped out of the room (he so knew he was doing something wrong). I wanted to kill him but took some deep breath, thought "it's a puppy" and tried not to think on how much they cost me to be just as I wanted them to be.

As the day goes by I am watching some TV and next thing I know Caesar is trying to get between the glass top and the table to... yeah you bet, steal my Armani Exchange. Now did he want to 10 bucks sunglasses seating next to it? Of course not! He wants the top notch (I wonder if they taste better). What came up next was a huge training session in which I put my glasses on the floor and as he came close he'd get a loud "LEAVE IT!" Bad part... he's afraid of glasses now. Good part, I think I saved my other two favorite pairs... and they will now be forever locked up!
Phew! What a day...Corgi and Remote Controlled Cartag:mycorgi.com,2009-02-08:1150197:BlogPost:3118072009-02-08T20:07:16.000ZCaesar & Mollyhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/Nathalia
I know... I haven't posted in a good while. But yesterday something pretty interesting happened with Caesar. We took all three dogs (two terriers and Caesar) to the dog park. There was a kid there with a remote control car. One of the terriers and Caesar went BALLISTIC over the toy. Maybe it was the herding instinct kicking in - I'm not sure. But we left them off leash and they chased the remote car for about half an hour. The cutest part was when the car went towards him and he jumped at the right time. Corgi up, car ran under, and off he went after that thing again.

After all that chase I called him up and he was so exhausted that he actually came and *gasp!* laid down in front of me so I could put him on a lead and take him home. He was pretty much done for the night. It made me think that it would be a GREAT investment to get one of those remote controlled cars. It would be a great way to exercise him. Eddie (the terrier) also had a ball... we think Caesar thought it was a sheep while Eddie thought it was a rabbit - LOL. They had a blast.

Oh and for those who are wondering they did not bite on the toy... they were much more interested in chasing it - so it would be a worthwhile investment since they would not chew and destroy it. So we hear a lot about Corgis begging, stealing food, barking for food, but how about a Corgi SHARING his food?? Mine does! I was watching television and here comes Caesar, pig ear on his mouth... he puts two front paws on the couch, leaves his pig ear on my belly, pushes with his nose and looks at me. I was amazed! I thanked him, pretended to bite it and gave it back to him with many praises. He went back to chew on it and about an hour later he did it again. I was amazed!!! My "treat obsessed…

So Caesar was impossible last night... but I take responsibility. He was so cute and we wrestled around, played tracking, played fetch, wrestled some more so he was W-I-R-E-D! By the time I was tired he was still on "go go go" mode. Then he started trying to have the couch as dinner. He got his first "leave it!", the second, on the third I went to give him a gentle smack on the muzzle when he turned his head at the same time. This game was recommended to me by Caesar's trainer and he loves it.

Let your puppy know that you are playing that specific game. I tell Caesar "Let's Track!" and immediately go in the kitchen. I pick up his treats and repeat "Let's Track!" Then I procede to put Caesar on a "sit" and "wait" (you probably would use "stay" but I screwed up and taught him with the wrong command. I let him wait while I hide treats (that was THE harder part to teach him but with time and patience it's doable). Once…

In this case it is "Go Track!"

He searches the house for treats, nose down to the carpet, room to room, every corner. He loves it. He's still at a point that I have to point at the room I want him to go but my goal is to have him hunt the house after treats.

The trainer said it is good stimulation for his mind. So far I just think it is a whole lot of fun!!!The BEST Toy for Corgis!!!!tag:mycorgi.com,2009-01-09:1150197:BlogPost:2813272009-01-09T19:32:01.000ZCaesar & Mollyhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/Nathalia
I read about this ball that was recommended for herding breeds. It made sounds when bouncing or rolling causing the herding instinct to kick in and have them chase it and corner it. Me being the curious mommy I am decided to take a look at it for Caesar. Since he needed to go to the vet for booster shots I went to talk to a salesperson about it. He did not hear about the ball being great for herding dogs but I decided to give it a try. No, the ball is not good... it's pretty freaking sweeeeet!!!!! Yes, notice my excitement. Caesar loves it and I am sure the neighboors hate it. As soon as I bounced the ball it blinked and make some weird sound. I threw and Caesar started doing his very famous herding bark. The more he chased it the more it hit a wall or something that would make it sound off. Caesar could not get enough of it, he cornered the ball a couple of times and get all pissy when the ball would light up once cornered. Then I would pick it up, throw it against a wall so it would light up and the dog would go nuts! So he's jump at it, bark at it, nip at it, and take it to the next corner. By the time he was done with it, his tongue was hanging out, he took a bit of water and passed out.

The only down side is that the ball is a bit too small. Though big enough that I know he can't swallow it, it easily gets under the furniture, causing a very hysterical Caesar to whine and bark until I could get it out. Other than that my (and Caesar's) favorite toy.Getting REALLY Pissed at Puppy Pad Routinetag:mycorgi.com,2009-01-08:1150197:BlogPost:2804012009-01-08T21:29:41.000ZCaesar & Mollyhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/Nathalia
Ok so I am in serious economical budget cuts and Caesar picked up the worst time to be a brat. His new thing is to destroy puppy pads. Now the dog plays scavenger hunt everyday, has a gazillion toys but no.... his thing is to destroy the puppy pad and then pee wherever the puppy pad was before. Love him.... trying not to kill him now. I literally just changed his pad, grabbed a bite and came back to find it in pieces. So now he's grounded.
How to Clean the House with 3 month Caesar
1 - Take a walk around the house and start a game plan. Be followed by Caesar.
2 - Start with laundry. Make a pile of whites. Chase Caesar around the house yelling "leave it" as an attempt to have him drop your socks.
3 - Make a pile of colors. Chase Caesar around the house as he picks once again the same sock you have taken away from him.
3 - Make a pile of colors. Chase Caesar around the house as he picks once again the same sock you have taken away from him.
4 - Put Caesar in crate, feel guilty, and decide to put up with his shenanigans
5 - Make a pile of delicates. Chase Caesar as he does laps around the house with your delicates.
6 - Take load of white to laundry room.
7 - Remove Caesar from pile of colors
8 - Play with Caesar as laundry is being done
9 - Start folding laundry
10 - Hang your jacket to dry. Make puppy stop playing "tug-o-war" with your jacket
11 - Hang your jacket higher.
12 - Remove flying Caesar who jumped on jacket and is now hanging by his teeth.
13 - Neatly put laundry away
14 - Chase Caesar as he runs with the sock that fell as you took into your closet.
15 - Forget closet door open. Try not to kill puppy when you realize he's playing tug-o-war with a VERY expensive dress. Spend 20 minutes making sure dress is ok and puppy does not need to be killked. Close closet door. Trip on puppy who decided to stay right behind you.
16 - Start cleaning bathroom. Remove toilet paper empty roll from Caesar's mouth. Pick up pieces everywhere.
17 - Clean bathroom. Realize puppy is too quiet. Realize puppy is no where to be found. Panic... hear a quiet growl and find puppy under the bed. Remove shoes from puppy's mouth. Give him his chew toy and see him ignore it. Remove fuzzies from puppy and realize you REALLY need to vacuum....
18 - Take puppy out to relieve himself
19 - Take the chance and take a whole lot of trash out
20 - Come back and realize puppy pad is in pieces
21 - Clean patio
22 - Give puppy a different chew toy and watch him ignore it once again
23 - Grab Caesar and cover him in kisses
24 - Let puppy in the house again
25 - Tell puppy once again to stop jumping on your jacket
26 - Hear chomping in the kitchen. Find puppy chewing on jewerly
27 - Give puppy a different chew toy. See him chew for five minutes
28 - Vacuum the house. Try to convince Caesar that the vacuum cleaner is not evil and he can stop chasing it.
29 - Put puppy outside
30 - Finish vacuuming. Let puppy in. See Caesar bark at the door where vacuum cleaner is kept. Tell puppy to be quiet for about 2 minutes before he complies
31 - Fold the remaining of the laundry.
32 - Find a beach hat and place it on puppy. Think it is so cute it really deserves a picture. Chase Caesar for about 5 minutes as he decides to play "catch me" while carrying your hat in his mouth. Throw hat back in the wash.
33 - Look around and realize your place looks a whole lot better. Hug and kiss puppy for making you laugh throughout the processCaesar's Vocabulary is Expandingtag:mycorgi.com,2008-12-18:1150197:BlogPost:2618302008-12-18T02:00:00.000ZCaesar & Mollyhttp://mycorgi.com/profile/Nathalia

Convinced that apartment living can be tremendously tedious for a puppy I decided to take him to one of the parks nearby my complex so he could take a good run. But before we talk about that park let's back up a day.

I gave Caesar his first bath at home on Saturday. Mind that he has been groomed before but it was the first time I attempted to do so. The dog did not have it! He half jumped, half climbed out of the tub, fought with the blow dryer, attempted to eat the towel... He was really not having any of it.

Anyway back to the story... Caesar is having a jolly old good time doing what Corgis do best - Herding the ducks and the birds (more terrorizing than herding but ok I'll take it). He has the retractable lead so it was almost as good as running leash free. Next thing I know he is nearby the pond trying to herd some ducks... I look and think "certainly it's safe. The dog hates bath." I didn't even get to finish that thought and all I see is the duck flying towards the pond and a tiny little Corgi on a half jump/half tumble (he hasn't got the jumping thing down yet) and SPLASH!!! Off to the pond he goes. Now it is COLD!! for our standards here in Arizona. I am freezing for taking the dog out of the water (and mind you that he traded the bottle water I got him for nasty pond water and was drinking big gulfs of it when I finally got it). The dog seemed like he had jumped on a pool when it is 100F outside and the cold day did not phase him a little bit. He got out and ran after the ducks again, only this time I kept him a little further away from the pond.

How can this story get any better (or worse - you chose)? I was waiting on someone for my first date. Luckily he's also a dog lover and got as much of a kick out of it as I did.

PS: Even though Caesar is a pup he was fine after his lake stunt. A little lose bowels but he had gone to the vet already and taken his boosters. He is a little too young to be out and about but at his age socialization is key so he's being exposed to everything I can.
