Day 2

Another quiet night. I put Jake out and clearly he does NOT like being out alone. Of course, he was used to being with all the other dogs in the foster home, and he does not like being out alone, I have to go with him.

Oh, well, the answer to that is get another Corgi!

Well, not really, but it would be nice for him. Perhaps someday. In the meantime, we need to learn to go out on our own. I think he is a bit scared, the yard is big, he is alone and I suspect he may have… Continue

Imagine that...

A Myspace just for Corgis! How grand...

Day one of being a Corgi owner. We have had lots of adventures, saw the ocean for the first time, played with our toys and ate cookies. And met the whole household including the boyfriend in law. So far, so good. I have been forewarned about Corgi crazies setting in within two weeks so we are on watch...

Championship Clubmatch in Holland

First Lustrum of the “Nederlandse Vereniging voor de Pembroke Welsh Corgi” (N.V.P.)

This is the Dutch Club for the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Dear Corgi friends, wherever you are,

In spring 2003 one was only familiar in the Netherlands with one society for both Pembroke and Cardigan corgis.

At this time lovers of the Pembroke breed took the initiative to break away from the Cardigans and start their own society for the Pembroke corgi.

new Corgi parents

Eric and I new Corgi parents. We couldn't pass him up when we saw him.

We named him Lincoln and he is 4 months old. He is a curious little boy that always seems to amaze us with something that he does.

Lincoln is doing just fine with all of his training. We are lucky to have such a good boy.

Sadly, on his part, he was neutered today. We are crossing our fingers that he doesn't retreat on any of his training because of the surgery.

The Puppies Have ARRIVED!

So this last sunday Trini had her babies! She went into labor late in the night. I pretty much stayed awake with her the whole night (yawn!) by the morning it was clear to see that she was having problems. So i called the vet, thank god for weekend service in this small town, and he said to go ahead and bring her in. After giving her a few different medications to try and induce labor he concluded that she was going to have to have s cesarian (c-section) at the whopping price of $700 big ones.… Continue

Little Dog, Big Bite

Yesterday was hilarious. My husband has a 4-year-old male lab (Hank), who resides at the in-laws while we settle in and finish our home, and I've got a 4-yr-old Pembroke (Cricket), who lives in the house with us. The other day DH bought Hank one of those monstrous bones that actually come from a cow to chew on. Hank was entertained for hours on end while he visited us, but Cricket was terrified he would eat her food, so she gobbled it up within minutes of Hank's arrival. I told DH to move the… Continue

Man Tau wishes everyone a prosperous year of Rat

It's Chinese New Year, so me & my husband get to spend 4 whole days 24/7 with our lovely Man Tau. He is still very small so we didn't want to take him our for a walk; instead, we played with him at home: run and chase, catching, teach him new commands... he is getting a lot smarter day by day :)

Man Tau wishes everyone a prosperous year of Rat here!…

Jumping On In

Kenzie and I got a response from the Fly Ball Trainer!

She told us she teaches Fly Ball courses 9 dollars a session every Sunday.

It's at a great facility near us. I went through the website and was impressed.

Started scanning the course list.

I noticed the facility also hosts a Canine Good Citizen Class.

This course would prepare the dog to take the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test. They will be working on the ten items that they will be tested on;…

Agility Trial Debut!

So, I've sent in Dally's first ever agility trial entries! She is registered AKC, and we just got our CPE (Canine Performance Events) card, so we're hitting both circuits. Our first CPE trial is March 1 in Ohio, but we're #2 on the waiting list, with four runs ahead of us (here's hoping someone pulls out!). Then on March 15, the big-dog AKC trial in Louisville, Ky., at the "cluster", which is also during the regional Pembroke Welsh Corgi specialty (March 13). I'm already getting nervous and…

Corgi the Super Villian!!

Don’t let that smile fool you. Or the fact that not having a tail makes them have to shake their entire butt when they are excited. It may be cute and adorable but behind those beady eyes and ears that can easily get 185 channels of HD programming is a devious mind that never stops turning. Look at your dog right now and tell me that through the fur and the fluff, sinister ideas aren’t forming into plans of world…

Brevard Co. FL

I am looking for other corgi owners to maybe have play dates somewhere! I see a couple of them at the dog park in Cocoa Beach but not many or often. Thanks for all of your help, Suse

My cat :o(

So in addition to Gonzo, I have a cat named Shadow. Okay, so she lives with my parents 3,000 miles away, but if she wasn't so old I would have taken her with me when I moved. She is still my cat, my parents were just taking care of her.

She is 20 years old and has been on medication for a hyperactive thyroid for a couple of years. Other than that, the vet says she is quite healthy and all the other blood work that comes back looks like it belongs to a 10 year old cat.

But she…

Waiting on Puppies

So i'm expecting my first litter. This is trini's first too. She's only days away and I'm just extatic! I'm not sure if tucker knows yet. I've been keeping trini inside and letting tucker sleep in the Garage while she's close, I think he just thinks she's slow and fat lol. When I take them out with me to feed the herd it takes her almost five minutes to get from point A to point B. I just can't help but laugh as she waddles up next to the sheep. She's such a cutie. It seems like just yesterday… Continue

Handsome George and CorgiBears Big Adventure....Again

Aroooooooooo this one is for youuuuuuuuuuuuuu Sam.....today has been interesting, the big dogs took us for a ride in this thing, i don't know what it was but it was fun slobbering all over the windows and leaving "snozz" marks. The big dogs always have something to say about their windows after we leave the moving thing.

Getting up and down the stairs is getting better everyday but I don't know if I will ever be as fast as my Princess. I think her gorgeous gams never touch the…

DAILY NOTES FROM HANDSOME GEORGE AND PRINCESS PENELOPE GWENDALYN CORGIBEAR

I love to chew on paper. Does not matter how important it might be, just love the shred it. The big dogs in the house sure were having a good time last night had something to do with a SupperBowl...all I know is that they gave me something that tasted like a corn cob...but it was crunchy. I do not get much else other than the stuff they put in my bowl. I really love Princess Penelope Gwendalyn CorgiBear. I like to be with her and nibble on her neck and run from her. She never played before I…
