I'm trying to get caught up..just been busy.

I haven't been on here lately..not that I don't want to but just so much is going on.

Kiara's pups are all in their new homes and doing fabulous. What a great litter. They were such a joy and been getting updated pictures from the new owners and can not believe how they've grown already. It goes fast when they aren't in your care and seeing them every day.

I redid my website..completely new design that took my husband and I sometime to do since we had to get familiar with… Continue

Natura Bought by Protcor and Gamble

P&G has signed a deal to buy out Natura, the company that makes Evo, Innova, Healthwise, and Karma. This is disappointing to me as Natura was one of about half a dozen pet food companies left that I trusted. I have successfully switched my dogs to a raw diet, but I still supplement with Evo from time to time, and like having that option available. Not to mention my kitty will only eat dry and canned food, and Innova… Continue

Almost Time for the Chop

My, my! How time flies! Baby Jackson is a little over 6 months now and it's about time for his neuter surgery.

He's been the best (barking) dog a gal could ask for and he really is my little companion. Everyone in our neighborhood fawns over him and he's doing great with people and other doggies at our local park.

It's been a while since we've been to the vet, but I'd say Jackson is around 20 lbs now. All I know is he… Continue

The wait is killing me!

I was informed by my breeder that my pup is happy, healthy, and ready to go! It killed me to have to tell her I wasn't going to be able to pick him up until May 15th. This is the last week of school and I'm moving back home over the summer so the next week and a half includes five tests and packing up and moving my apartment into storage. I decided that it wouldn't be the best environment to bring my baby into but I have my last final friday morning, the 14th, and as soon as I'm done I'm… Continue

Dogs on Carts or Wheels

Our Lucky is in need of a cart, or wheels. Has anyone had experience with a dog on a cart? I know it is more humane than having him drag his hind end around, but I worry that once he is mobile again he will run over the cat and the other corgi in his exuberance! He used to be our herder and ball player, and I would love to give him back that ability if that is possible. We live in the country, so he has been quite isolated lately. Any information would be helpful, all the vets say is that he… Continue

He's official!

I'm so proud of my baby boy...he received his official Therapy Dog packet today! I couldn't wait to try his vest on him. He liked wearing it and seemed a little put out when I went to take it off of him.

After 6 weeks of class, 10 supervised visits with my daughter, then 10 supervised visits with me, he's been approved! WooT!

Besides the vest (it's a little big on him, but I think the next size down would be too snug… Continue

Diggory's first days at home

Diggory is sleeping up against me as I type this... he's such a sweet little thing. I rescued him from the shelter on Saturday after Ginny and I had finished the Furry Scurry with the corgi team (our team raised over $1500 for the local shelter - woohoo!).

I've been thinking about getting a second the last few weeks and I knew I wanted a) a male corgi or corgi mix, b) a younger dog, but not…

I'm a bad blogger!

I'm a very bad blogger! I didn't realize I haven't posted in so long. Wow! So much has happened since the last time I posted. Late October, let's see, in mid-November I sustained 3 pinched nerves and had to stop all training. Heck I had to stop everything! I spent most of the time the weekend before Thanksgiving and the weekend after Thanksgiving going to the doctor and the ER to get pain meds until they'd actually DO something! I had one pinched nerve in my neck and 2 in my upper back. I had… Continue

Happy Birthday Paisley!

Sunday was Paisley's birthday! I can not believe she is a whole year old. It feels like just yesterday she was a tiny little bear bounding around our apartment. She is a very special little girl. We found her the week I graduated from college, and moved in with my husband in our little apartment. We got her the week my husband started his first real job. She lost all her baby canines the weekend my husband and I got married. She started her adult food the week we bought our house. She took her… Continue

Bad Influence

So since the puppy came home about 3 weeks ago Scout has decided that it's ok for him to go potty in the house as well. However it's only when either me or my girlfriend is home we leave him out while we're at work and have not had an incident. However twice with my girlfriend and once with me he has went number 2 in the living room. So I've had to start leashing both of them and taking them outside to potty and only going back inside after we've finished.

It's just weird…

New trick

So for the past couple of days we've been trying to teach Murphy how to shake our hands and it took a little bit. He wasn't quite understanding what we were trying to do when we'd push his paw forward to get him to put it up, but he's finally got it. He's so cute when he does it. All he ever tries to do is please us and make us happy and he always does. We love him so much. We have such a great dog.

Molly's chewing problems

Molly is so smart. She around 9 months old now and is just incredibly intelegent. She has learned sit, stay, lay, all the way down, kisses, up, down, got to your room, no bite, and many more. She responds to many numerous comands just while you are talking to her. The one thing we can't get her to stop is chewing up the carpet or my shoes. I can hide my shoes but not the carpet. I hate to have to start kenneling her again, but she is destroying the carpet! She has toys and chewies, and when I… Continue

No running for Sally!

My biggest challenge of the weekend has been keeping Sally from running after her being spayed. She doesn't understand why she can't play like we usually do, and she's been doing a lot of whining.

I'm kind of depressed though, because I live on the Gulf Coast and it might not be too long before our beautiful beaches are covered in oil.

Lil' Puppy Brother, Day Two

They've spent the day playing together, and Ginny has toned down her grumbling protests about the baby brother encroaching upon her space. Still without a name, but it will come in time. We think he's definitely a "co-jack" (corgi/jack russell) and he is boingy. Real sweet natured, playful, and mostly housebroken too (but I'm crating anyhow, at least until I know he's more reliable. Here's a pic for everyone to enjoy!…

My heart is still racing.

bit of a scare here at my house. I'm usually very cautious about removing the dogs' collars when we're home, but I forgot to take Goldy's collar off last night after getting home from my brother's derby party. Bear and Goldy were wrestling and Bear's mouth got caught on Goldy's collar and he evidently twisted - both were very scared, including me. I managed to unclick… Continue

Ginny's new brother!!

Ginny is in her little puppy bed that she's too big for because she is completely jealous that her BRAND NEW BABY BROTHER was taking a liking to it. That's right, Ginny is a big sister now. We found a little corgi mix at the local shelter. He is about 6 months old and was transfered from another shelter in Kansas. We're trying to think of names for him, and I know this is lame-o, but we have a "theme" of Harry Potter names, so if you have any good ideas... so…

Tips on introducing Maggie to the new kitten.

My husband and I thought it a good idea to bring a new kitten into our lives and thus have a companion for Maggie. So now Riley our 11 week old ragdoll/persian mix is home and Maggie is just itching to herd him in her typical corgi manner. Riley isn't quite sure what to make of Maggie and this has stuck to his room. Any ideas on how I can peacefully get these two to bond without causing any anxiety?
