Livvy: herding dog...

I'm as proud as I can be with Livvy today:) She helped move our 2 goats over a mile from one farmsite to the other. She thinks she owns the goats in the yard BUT she truelly did her job today as we walked from one place to the other with only one goat tethered. She moved them and kept them going without any problems...she…

4 Paws Kingdom Vacation in NC

My husband and I just returned from a vacation at 4 Paws Kingdom in North Carolina.

I recommend this place to anyone interested in vacationing with their dogs in NC.

4 Paws Kingdom is the only dog dedicated campground in the US.
It is an RV park for adults and their dogs.
Here is a link to their web site....http://www.4pawskingdom.com/

The owners are dog lovers and do all they can to…

Two Week Marker

Well, it's been two weeks since we've picked up Zorro and I still am so excited to come home and see him! He's such a wonderful little puppy and I think we're making really good headway in him becoming settled and apart of our little family.

Progress:

I don't think he has nipped once today

Hasn't had an accident in the house today

No longer cries when you put him in his crate

Hasn't damage any of our possessions by chewing them

Rides great in the…

Kirby to the rescue!

Kirby, my sweet sweet boy, came to the rescue of my poor Baby Kitty.  I heard the cat door in the kitchen and didn't really think anything of it.  Kirby ran in the kitchen to see what was up, and gave a little "Hey! Come see this!" bark, which is unusual, so I went to investigate.  Baby Kitty had tried to get out of the cat door, which had been set to only open in one direction, so his tail got caught.  Kirby has always been a good boy, but I had no idea he would have the cat's back like…

My fiance finally caught Corgi fever!!

After months of Chris making fun of me for my breed of choice.. he has finally caught Corgi fever!!!

First, I should mention that we are staying to South Carolina and currently working towards getting our own property. I mentioned to Chris that after everything is settled and we have a nice fenced in yard for Chase, I would like to add another Corgi to our little family. He laughed and picked on me about having a…

Nora's First Camping Trip!

So over Father's Day weekend I took Nora for her first ever camping trip!

Boyfriends often describe me as neurotic as I tend to worry about things that most often turn out to be not nearly as terrible as I expect them to be. So naturally I was very anxious leading up to our trip. I'd only had Nora for three weeks at that point and she is like me in that she could be described as nervous or a worry wart. She has a much better reason than myself. From what I understand she was kept in…

Bailie's home

She's home and doing well. She came home acting goofy and sleepy which as you know there is nothing cuter than the droop ears of a sleepy corgi :). They'll be no jumping or rough housing which will be quite disappointing to my hyper active fur baby but it'll be ok, we'll take her on a play day when she's better to make up for it. Thanks for all the supportive comments!

patience is a virtue, right?

heard back from the breeder and there is no june litter, failed pregnancy attempt. and the first pretty dog that was going to have a litter this summer sprained her rear leg early spring, so that's out.

potentially two will be in season this fall, so a sept/oct. litter and then we'll have i guess a nov./dec. pup?

sigh.

want puppy now!!! but this is more time to prepare, get supplies, ready the house.

concerned about taking pups for walks in cold weather, but the…

the big day

We dropped our baby off at the vet a little over an hour agi for her spaying. The face she made when we left made us feel just awful. I'll be on pins and needles until 3:30 when we can call to see when we get to pick her up. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!

Not sure if Corgi just brought in a baby carrot or an earplug.

The Empty House

Scout went to stay with her human aunt while Jeremy and I go on vacation.  Glad we are leaving early tomorrow, because it was so sad coming home and not having a happy smiling corgi waiting at the top of the stairs. Yeah, Marley the cat is here but a cat just isn't the same.  He loved me when his bowl was empty, but I fed him and now he has slinked off to a different room.  My corgi would have eaten, then resumed her position at my side.  This gives me even more reason to get a puppy within…

Zorro, the Traveling Corgi!

Zorro and I have been so busy lately! I'm housesitting from this past Sunday until Thursday. The woman I'm housesitting for has two Golden Retrievers. So far nobody has been hurt, but one of the Goldens is about a year old and so rambunctious and just wont leave Zorro alone! It scares me he will hurt him on accident so I'm constantly on guard. Today we woke up, did the feedings, drove 30 minutes to get home, had lunch. After lunch Joe and I decided to bring Zorro to a local ice cream…

LeeLoo is going to be a big sis!

We're pregnant with our first baby!  LeeLoo has been an amazing nurse, following me more intently since we found out.  She stays with me during the morning sickness and takes advantage of the extended sleeping hours I now follow.  We're so excited she will be a part of our family as we welcome a new one into the mix.

This is what made her recent diagnosis of cancer and revelation she's really 10 even harder.  We've known for two months we were pregnant and just imagining her not…

4th of July Issues and

Hi.

My Pembroke, Rosie, gets quite scared during all the fireworks during the 4th of July.  Are there any suggestions on how to help calm her?  I wont be home to help her through this, and if I was, it wouldnt make a difference anyway.  Does anyone have any medical resolutions to help calm a corgi through this difficult time?

Thanks,

Jeff

Recent Corgi Adventures with lots of pictures!

I know I posted about our recent engagement, but I wanted to update with some more fun pictures.

At the beginning of May, we loaded up the car and headed down to Galveston, TX. We rented a dog friendly condo with a nice garden out back.

Then we headed down to the beach. The dogs had never been to the beach before.…

Pippa's Diary-The Aftermath

It was looking bleak. The oppressors had been gone for what felt like weeks. My water bowl was dangerously close to the half way point, and I was beginning to feel myself waste away. Dante seemed to have succumbed to insanity as well. He was acting as though the people had been gone for mere minutes. I feared they had forgotten us.

Just as I was feeling my end was near, I heard a familiar sound rumble in the distance! It was them! Oh they hadn't forgotten us after all!…

Shippo & Kitten

There are some farm kittens out here, and they're about 4 weeks old now an have started wandering out of the nest. Shippo loves kittens, so I let him lay down and sniff them, but nothing more since they're not old enough to really play. …
