Flying

So I have to fly to Maryland in 3 weeks and i just bought sophie a bag for the flight. shes a little small for it but if she lay's down its not to bad...My biggest problem is that she's never had to be in a crate. At night she gets locked in the kitchen. so I dont know how to go about breaking her to the crate thing so she wont whine the whole time. I'm scared someone is stealing corgis!

Where i live in West Texas Corgi's are not very common. I worry everytime someone seems too intrested in Dragster.. I'm an over protective mommy lol. Anyway at our local wal-mart there is a sign saying " Please return a little girls best friend" and it has a baby corgi. This makes me very sad. I already freak out when i leave him in the car just to run in the post office!!!

Stanley's Birthday Party

Today is officially Stanley's 1st birthday. But yesterday he's celebrated big time at his birthday party! For all of those that made it to the party, a big THANK YOU for making the day so special. 5 Favorite Things about Having a Corgi

I've been thinking about some of my favorite things about Pixel - the things he does that I love so much. These include: 1) Corgi laps - Pixel loves to run and sometimes in the evening will start running around the living room in wide circles as fast as he can. He just goes and goes. More examples of Dax's amazing problem solving abilities.

Although I agree that corgi's are smart dogs (maybe it's the herding thing) and well able to problem solve, it turns out that it's not the corgi in the family that's the smart one, but Dax, the Newfoundland. Went to see the puppies today!!!!!

Bear and I went to see his breeder and check out the new puppies. They couldn't believe how beautiful Bear has become and LOVED that he was a redheaded tri. Bear was great with the babies, smelling them and then jumping back about 10 feet when they make a little squeak! I think he's going to be a great big brother!

Casey crossed the rainbow bridge

I had to have Casey put down yesterday. His cancer had spread throughout his lymph nods, his face and the last few days had taken most of his eyesight. It was the most difficult thing I ever had to do, but it was the right thing for Casey. The house is so quiet and empty. Thank you all for your kind words when I previously asked for advice about his cancer. I cannot see myself without a corgi in my life, and I will be looking for another when the time is right.

DOGGIE YOGA!!!

Ok, so you guys and girls tell me if your Corgi has ever done this...

So as we all know, Cowboy is 16 years old. He wakes up in the morning and he's usually a pretty frisky little fellow first thing in the am. So for a while he would get out of his bed (all 4 blankets/comforters plus 2 actual dog beds!) and he would roll around on his back on the carpet...and then things changed!

Bad day at work helped by corgi love

I just started a new job and I feel so over my head. I came home in tears and when I opened the door there were my two sweet smiling corgi babies. Loving those two is the best medicine in the world. I still think I got into a job that I am not smart enough to handle, but corgis make me think everything will work out somehow.

Anyone have any experience with TPLO Surgery?

Charlie (my Pem) has to go in for TPLO surgery to repair his CCL of his rear left knee.
I have heard that the recovery time can be as long as 8 weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has had a Corgi go through this surgery.

Dog Training Books

I am assuming I am not the only person on this site a little addicted to dog training books. (something about having corgis will do that to you) I just read a book called "Don't Dump The Dog" by Randy Grim. It was a fun and informative read.
