kaijuu ... is bilingual?

kaijuu has a bad habit of bringing oily pig ears to his bed/crate.

so im at my desk, and i say to him [in vietnamese]

kaijuu, no...don't eat in your bed.

guess what he does?

he drags the pig ear out of bed, and brings it to my table and is chowing it down ...

now if only he understood japanese and chinese too. that be great! =)

Just a dog.... SO NOT TRUE :o)

This pretty much sums it up, I know everyone here gets the looks like I do that ur nuts when u start talking to people that either dont have dogs or dont truly just feel its an animal and not part of the family...

Just a Dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come… Continue

The Temple of Boom #4

Start Random Observation…

Boomer’s back legs always look like he just got off a horse. And he wiggles his butt when he walks. Which would explain the desire of other dogs to hump him, I guess.

End Random Observation…

Boomer’s ears are wonderful in the fact they are completely indicative of how he’s feeling. Straight up means he’s wide awake and ready to play. Ears half-mast means a little tired. Ears straight out from the side of his head means this dog is about… Continue

Week One Complete

Hello everyone,

Well we have completed the first week of having Rowdy home. He has been pretty easy to handle so far except for getting the timing down of going outside. However on the wonderful side that he has no problem in holding it when we are in the car and then whine a little bit to let us know that he is ready to go. He has truely been a great puppy so far and man he has blown both my wife and I away with how obedient he is. What I mean is that when we take him outside to our… Continue

Agression Question

Hi! I have a question and would like to know if anyone has any advise. I have two almost 1year old pembrok welsh corgis. When I let them out side they go straight to the fence to fight with the dog next door. The dog next door is mean too, but my two go nuts with it. They bite each other and attach each other when they are at the fence. They also go after my other dog (who is blind and old) when he barks at them. They can get very aggresive when the other dogs fuss at them. Does anyone have any… Continue

Best dog food for a corgi?

I have given my Rambo Merrick's Puppy Plate since I got him. Merrick's is hard to find (Petco, Petsmart do not carry it) He is now almost 8 months. What is the BEST food that I can give him? I have tried to keep him very healthy, he walks 1 hour in the mornings and half hour at nights. As snaks he eats fruits and veggies.

Rambo loves apples, pears, watermelon, bananas, carrots, and celery (keeps his teeth very clean and white).

The fruits I give only once in a while… Continue

Collar Issues & My New Corgi Shop!

Gibson's collar has been an issue lately. Before we started obedience class, he wore his collar all of the time, and I thought he looked adorably handsome in it. Well, when we started class, he barely wore his collar, if ever, because we used training collars for class, which he would have to wear every time I'd take him for a walk to practice. So, I've gotten used to Gibson walking around the house 'naked' all of the time and being able to pet his neck and see his beautiful mane (which was non… Continue

Zim Vs. Yarn

So since it's really cold out and I had to do some shopping I left the dogs home the other day (saves me having to try to bury the groceries when I get out of the car). Sunny and Gizmo each have their own kennel and we have started to leave Zim alone since he has been trustworthy. I figured at the most he would have shredded some paper or maybe had an accident (he adores shredding paper so it wouldn't surprise me). What I came home to was beyond anything I could have imagined. He had gotten… Continue

Looking for a reputable breeder...

Hello to all!

My family and I currently have one female corgi and would like to expand our family with another. We are in Reno, NV and to find a good breeder that is not too far away is very difficult. We are willing to make the drive, if need be, but would prefer not to go too far. We would like to get another pup around Christmas or New Years. We would really like a red & white male if possible.

If anyone can help us with this search, it would be appreciated!

Dog food additives.

I just discovered why Nutmeg is such a picky eater... I have been feeding her the Nutro Natural chicken and oatmeal formula. To get her to eat it I have to doctor it up with cottage cheese or other things. I tried 4 different samples of natural dog foods with high protein and absolutely no grains in them. I put each sample in its own bowl as well as her normal food. She tried to eat all of the samples and left her normal food alone! So now I am feeding her Evo red meat small bites and she has… Continue

Nice to meet fellow MyCorgi.com members

George and Rosie went to Bark in the Park and we met some other MyCorgi members and their sweet corgis. We really had a lot of fun even though the weather was really warm.

The Corgi in the Window

Our local Petland has had the cutest corgi puppy for almost a month now. My family has named him Oliver and we visit him at least once a week. I feel so bad for him because he is getting bigger and bigger but his cage is not. Everytime my sister or I are in there we carry him around and answer the questions of the people in there because people in this area have no idea what a corgi is. I feel so bad for him and am torn at moments like this. I hate puppy mills and the people that think of… Continue

The Good, the Bad & the Snugly - A week with Stanley

Well, it's official - 1 week down with lil Stanley. The week has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. I was prepared for puppy motherhood to be tiring. Now I know that may have been a bit of an understatement. Between the nighttime potty breaks, the scrubbing of my carpet to get stains out, the massive amounts of laundry I've done - it's been downright exhausting. On the plus side, I'm bound to lose a few pounds after all the walking up & down my stairs I've done. Note to self -… Continue

Libby Misses Me

I'm visiting a friend in KY. I knew Libby would whine the first couple nights, but my grandmother says she's been whining a lot and waiting by the door. Her separation anxiety has gotten worse since we've moved. I have left her with my mom months at a time when I was going to school. Now that she is older and that we've moved, I think she just can't take being away from me any more. Sometimes she won't eat until I get home and pouts when she knows I'm getting ready to leave. I think I'll try… Continue

Countdown to Las Vegas!

Brandon and I leave for Las Vegas in 3 days. We'll be heading out Sunday for a stop over at his brother's house for the night. But, with the recent snowy weather that has arrived today, I'm starting to worry that roads are going to be icy. We recently had a few warm days, and that may turn the snow to water, then to ice overnight. About a week ago, we had our first snow of the season with turned out to be a blizzard. I'm hoping this isn't going to be a repeat of that.
