Fuzzy Pillow

About 2 months ago we started letting Oppy sleep in bed with us. I was pretty against it at first because I'm a finicky sleeper and tend to roll around a lot. It was tough enough getting used to sleeping with another person, now add a dog that will just stare at you if you ask it to roll over. Despite my skepticism, he's done very well. He finds the spot between mine and Hilliary's feet and curls up down there not bothering either of us. Just 2 weeks or so ago he started doing something a… Continue

Socialization before shots?

When we took Bella to the vet for her shots, they told me not to begin socializing her in unfamiliar places until her shots her complete. Which is totally understandable, I wouldn't want little Bella to attract a deadly disease out in the open. But in that time when the vet told me not to take her out, I missed a very imporant time when I should have socialized her more. Now we have a 7 month old puppy who is terrified of other dogs due to the lack of socialization. I feel as if I should have… Continue

My little birthday girl

Today is Hannah's birthday, and she is now one year old! We haven't celebrated much as the weekdays are very busy, but we are going to have a mini party for her on Friday! I ordered her a dozen pupcakes from Four Muddy Paws earlier this week and will pick them up Friday on my way home from work. She's getting carob flavor with peanut butter icing. We'll be going to a friend's house for… Continue

Broken

So I'm sitting here on my computer playing around on Facebook when Ian starts yelling, "Momma, Momma!" I turn to look at him and ask, "What is it?" He points at a belly up, fast asleep Yumi then says, "Momma, Momma! Yumi broken!!" He then proceeds to pat her belly again (which usually wakes her up and is followed by her pouncing and licking all over him) but she is so comfy I guess that she is completely oblivious to his actions! It was sooooo funny, I wish I could've caught that one on camera… Continue

A new corgi.....

My girl friend saw Yoda growing up and get a "Corgi itch" needs to be scratched. She found a Corgi puppy at the local shelter. He is the sweetest little dog! We promptly named him Chewie. He was abandoned because he had 2 different color eyes. It is a Chinese superstition thing. We have been busy fattening him up and get all of the shots ready. Beside the different color eyes, Chewie also has a skin pigment issue, so his left eyelid is a little pink. Now, Yoda has a brother (younger by 1 month)… Continue

cat vs. cat and the dog's thoughts

My orange baby Walker was chasing our older cat Flossy around last night. Then he strolled into the living room with a big clump of her fur in his mouth! I couldn't even get a straight picture, I was laughing so hard.

Hold still, demon cat!

And KC's thoughts on the whole thing.…

Breeding

Whenever I mention Bella's heat cycle, my dad will suggest that we should breed her when she gets older. I can understand why he would want to breed Bella, she's just a joy for all of us and pretty soon I'll be moving out and taking both Bella and Gracie with me. I don't blame him for wanting a little Bella for himself when both me and Bella are gone. But I don't know... there are so many risks, expenses, and worries put into it... and so much time and effort. I know my dad has raised quite a… Continue

Foot Injury and Ms. BellaRella

I injured my foot yesterday, though I'm not sure how. I have an appointment set up later today to get it checked out. But anyway, when I woke up this morning to my hyperactive Bella jumping and hoping all over the bed, I kicked her off so she wouldn't accidentally hurt my foot further. I limped over to the couch, and it seemed as if Bella sensed that I was hurt and she instantly changed her attitude. She hopped onto the couch next to me, and circled around my foot before settling down and… Continue

Friends

And to think I was concerned that Maddie was not warming up to Jack.

For the longest time she did not really want to play with him, and now the past two weeks while I had to limit her activity while she healed from her spay, I had trouble keeping them off each other. I finally gave up over the weekend and let them wrestle a little; her stitches are nearly ready to come out and the incision looks… Continue

The Pongo Fund Pet Food Bank

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

-Mohandas Ghandi

Today was the opening of the Pongo Fund Pet Food Bank in Portland, OR. I was honored to volunteer and be a part of this brilliant charity. Larry started out delivering food to pets of the homeless and transient people in the area and has now opened this food bank which will help to keep families (including the furry members) together.

The… Continue

Update on Wynstan

The breeder called me today to tell me a few things about my pup. He now enjoys playing in the water bowl. She mentioned how is almost always damp now after he discovered how much fun water is. I hope this translates as him being a water corgi, this is something I was hoping for. She also told me that he is eating very well and does well at the vet.

20 more days!…

Late Howloween

I always celebrate Halloween with my dogs, but I missed this one due to a short family vacation. I felt so bad about being unable to have my dogs with us, so I found this amazing local pet supply store and bought these cute little bags of a ton of different dog bones and dog treats.

When I got home, my brother and I helped me divide the treats between my two girls and set them on chairs around the house and let them go to each chair as if they were going house-to-house on Halloween.… Continue

CRAZY CORGI MOM

I am the proud mom of 3 dachshunds and of course my 2 PWC, and I can't get over the urge of wanting a Cardi! Ugh I'm nuts! I don't think my boyfriend would let me get one, but I can't seem to get the idea out of my head!

HOORAY!!!

We went on the World dog Show and gained the 4th place and for us it is very very good. We saw our breeder, Chiara Ceredi. She has DRAGONJOY kennel. On the second day of the show was the monobreed of the corgis and we gained 2nd place. But I think on the next show all will be OK!!!

I have good news!

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico! ... Okay, not really. My parents pay for my car insurance and we already have Geico. BUT~

That breeder that I was looking into? Amazing. She's a small breeder-- been showing/breeding Corgis for 18 years and only has had 6 litters. 5 champion dogs! Tests for vWD, eyes, hips, and even heart condition. I was simultaneously glad to hear she doesn't overbreed but also very disappointed because I figured I wouldn't be… Continue

My Corgi is Annoying

Let me start off by saying I love my dog to death and he is the sweetest, most non-aggressive dog I have ever known. On the other hand, he is really annoying at the dog park. I try to take him to one at least once a week because it seems like he was socialized very well with humans, not so much with dogs, before he came to me. He LOVES playing with other dogs and running around, but the second other dogs start playing rough with one another, he starts barking. Not viciously, but more of a "Hey… Continue
