Breed history

Just wondering if anyone out there has tried out the dog breed genetic tests. Samwise is settling in, and as he was a pound puppy, I'd like to see how "pure corgi" he is. He looks all Corgi. By the way much thanks to Cesar M. in helping me integrate him into my house full of male Corgis.

It's snowing!!!

I live in Jackson, MS and we barely ever get ANY snow and when we do it's just a little bit. But tonight it's snowing wonderfully! We've got an inch or two already out there and it's still early on in the night so I'm hoping we'll get alot more before morning so we can play a lot tomorrow! I went ahead and took my son, Ian, out to play and Yumi tagged along as well. This is Ian's second snow, but I don't think he remembers the first one and this is Yumi's very first snow, so both of them were… Continue

What a year it has been....

I didn't realize how long it has been since I was on last! So much has happened, both good and bad. Thankfully, more good than bad.

My cat Seymour who was over 20 years old just died last week (peacefully) and I think Foxie is having some trouble with his absense. I catch her looking for him in his usual hiding places, she doesn't like it when people leave the house (like maybe we won't come back) and she is very "clingy" when we are home. As a matter of fact, I think she knows I'm… Continue

Semester done!

This semester was tough. Spending time with Chloe was a pinch because I have to work her around my school/study schedule. It was a pain, but my family have been taking good care of her. I apologize for the delay on the pictures. I'll upload more next week. She's grown up from the pictures on the album i just posted. She's so smart, but she keeps eating everything up. Anyway, I have to go back to studying. I'll update next week! Later.

Hurricane Sydney strikes Portland!

She is finally here! Sydney is absolutely adorable. We were up late last night burning off some of that energy she had from being cooped up all day on her way here.

Last night when I fed her she barely ate, but this morning was a bit better. She really seemed to take to her toys right away, which is fabulous.

I am working on her going out in the yard since there are a lot of animals out near me and she has managed to find… Continue

How to tell the difference between a good breeder website and a bad one.

Most puppy buyers use the Web to look for puppies. There’s nothing wrong with that, as long as you realize that bad breeders are not sticking to the penny saver or ads on the supermarket wall anymore. They know where their buyers are and they know how to pull them in. It’s up to you as a buyer to do your research, but I know it can be very confusing because bad breeders will claim all the same things that good ones do. Here are some things that help me tell the difference.

1) Good… Continue

Dog Yoga

It is hard to say "no" to a dog who wants to play, but when I really don't want to be disturbed, I put the proffered ball on the piano. Al gets the message. Eventually.

Diet Questions: or AHHHH! Help! Ever since someone posted that gross video of what goes into dog/cat food I have been so upset about what i am feeding my poor babies!

So years ago when I got my first cat my vet recommended Nutro cat food. She told me it was high quality and cheaper than other foods like science diet and such. Seeing as this is what my kitten had been eating already and I liked the sound of a high quality food (I buy only Oxbow products for my bunny because of quality), i thought it was a great investment into my kittens future.

Fast forward a few year

I finally got the dog I had been dreaming of since i graduated from… Continue

They say pets often look like their owners

I bleached my hair the other night in preparation for dyeing it a pinkish-purple color. Because my hair is very dark, the bleach doesn't turn it blonde, but instead a nice shade of red-gold. I never actually got around to dyeing it pinkish, and this gold color is really growing on me. It dawned on me as I was looking for corgi pics today that I'm a tricolor person! Lol. White, blackish, and red-gold. I'm also a low rider at 5'1"... short dogs for short people. If I had a triguy right now, I'd… Continue

need a little help

Wynstan is really good except for one thing, he bites the crap out of jeans and hands. I know he is just a puppy, and I have only had him for four days, but I am worried that it will only get worse. I just want to take care of it so it won't become a problem when he is older.

any suggestions?

Cute cardi up for adoption in Michigan

I was browsing the ads on Petfinder, noticing how many cute corgi mixes need homes, when i came across this wonderful little Cardigan Corgi puppy!

The first thought i had was to post his on MyCorgi so that the wonderful people here might have a chance at adopting him.

As we all know corgis are little spitfires and if they go to a home that is not prepared for their personality, they are often sent back to the shelter.

I hope that he can find a forever home with an experienced dog… Continue

So Thankful for MyCorgi.com

I met a woman, her daughter and their 3 month old australian shepherd mix at the park today. The dog came up to me and I asked to pet it mostly because Owen has been at my parents house since we moved because we are still in temporary housing. So other peoples dogs are amazing. Good thing I run right by the dog park!

Anyway she had that look of overwhelmedness as I walked by and we just chatted for a bit and I worked a bit with her dog. Gave advice, etc. She was so thankful. I tried… Continue

Advantage horrid smell

I switched Shiro from Frontline to Advantage because it was way cheaper and many people said it's better. Has anyone noticed that horrid and nauseating smell it has? I couldn't go near my dog for the first 2 days and it's still lingering. Also it only works for a couple weeks, then he gets fleas anyways. It's so annoying, isn't it supposed to protect for a month?

I do not apply it until 2 days after bath, and don't wash him for at least a week after, so I don't know what's going on. Maybe… Continue
