Gorgeous Corgi Art

I just stumbled across this artist who paints the most adorable Cori-themed paintings. Here's one of them:

2013 - Will this be my year?

I am starting to get my life together, there is just one thing left to do, get a steady job and apartment. As soon as I get that cleared, I'm going to finally get my corgi if I can find him. To finally get my life together and hopefully be financially stable will mean I can support a dog in my life. I keep dreaming of corgi puppies so I think this might be my year. Will be…

2 Corgis in Colorado need help!

Someone might find this treatment acceptable. And if you are that type, please don't comment on my post :-) Thanks!

Anyhow, I've been to my storage unit a few times in the last year to hear several dog's yapping on the other side of the fence. I never thought twice about it until I hear it the other day when it was 0 degrees outside. So I decide to look over the fence. And to my amazement, 2 corgis. Both tied up, with their own ruts, perfect radius to tether ratio. Sad to see…

Frequent Flyer Corgi

Molly and I went on our first flight together yesterday, and it was amazing! When we got to the airport, I was prepared for the worst, Molly being too big to fly in cabin. I checked in, and paid for Molly's ticket and no one even looked in her carrier. She isn't too large, shes the right size, but shes poofy, so you never know. I arrived 3 hours early, just in case, so we had time to kill. I took her to the pet relief area and she met a few other pups getting ready for flights. Once she was…

Dixon Corgi Faire

I went to the annual Dixon Corgi Faire.I think this is the third time I have gone with Chloe.  I have never seen so many Corgis!  I entered Chloe is the Corgi Bowling contest, 3 plastic cups with treats underneath, the object of the game is to knock over cup and get treats.  She got third place in her group.  We will practice for next year.  I did enjoy talking to other Corgi people.  What was interesting is that the Corgis in grass area all decided to chase other non Corgi breed like a…

Important Pet Food Recall!

Good Morning Corgi Nation!

This apparently a very serious recall. Please watch the video for a list of foods affected. It is my understanding that this primarily and East Coast thing. But some of us have our pets food shipped. Diamond distribution and their poor manufacturing processes could affect many of you and your pets!

Is anything safe anymore? Jeez!

I grow my own food...I should start feeding my pups homegrown veggies and tofu!…

May I never get a serious injury...

...because Saber is obsessed with removing any sort of bandage from me. Any one else have that problem?

In other news, Saber seems to really have fetch reliably down, knows sit, lay down, ding the service desk bell to go outside, and stand up and touch my hand. I went to a convention for a weekend and left her in the care of my mother.  Her new thing is to climb into my lap anytime I sit on the ground.  I think that she thinks that I can't leave if she's in my lap.  It's kind…

A Boy and a Toy

Okay, I know this isn't exactly an astonishing event but I thought I would make a blog post about it anyway.

I HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MAKING ACE INTERESTED ENOUGH IN A TOY TO PLAY WITH IT ON HIS OWN!

This is really groundbreaking for me, and especially for Ace. Ever since he entered my life, he has NOT played with toys. Sure, he would tug…

A Social Caterpillar

It's been a few weeks now that I have worked on Ace's people skills. Every day, I made it a point that at least one stranger would come up to him. He's done terrific progress in some parts, and is going at a snail's pace in others. What I have discerned from this experiment so far:

- Ace loves the ladies. Of all shapes, sizes, ages and species. If a girl comes up to him, he will go sniff her with just momentary hesitation. What a ladies' man...

- Ace is not as…

Ace and Agility!

I am on such a rush right now! Ace and I just came back from a lovely first glance at an agility class, on a terrain about half an hour away by car. I have never wanted to learn how to drive (and own my own car) so badly until now - I want to go back!

We were allowed to drop in on a beginner's agility course, and eventually the trainer asked us if we'd like to have a go. I was so elated, I jumped into the ring without a second thought. Ace did extremely well on the long-line…

Wynn hurt his back:(

We just got home from a last minute trip to the vet. I had called Wynn in from outside where he had been for several hours enjoying the 70 degree temps and the sun. He couldn't get up and his leg was looking funny so I knew it was his back or leg. Somehow he made it to the car when I went in to get something and I lifted him in. After several times of checking his spine and legs the vet told me it was his back and to "hold his head and upper body tight. The vet moved his legs and hips every…

One giant leap for corgikind by Ace!

My husband, Ace and I all went to the city prefecture today to pick up my 10 year "Green Card" for staying in France (a victory on its own!). After a grueling half-hour wait in a room that felt more like a sauna than a city hall, I was called forward to a window and Ace accompanied me. The clerk waved hello and made kissy noises to Ace, which piqued his interest in what was going on. He had already been such a good little gentleman until now - despite the presence of many squealing and…

Socializing Breakthrough!

I am SO happy to report that today, Ace and my husband went to the atelier of a photographer (Xavier) who works in the same building as us. Ace was on a very loose leash in the presence of Xav, and did not try to hide behind my husband's legs when first being introduced.

After 6 treats dispensed in the hand of Xavier, Ace allowed the latter to pet him on the top of his head! This is HUGE! I couldn't believe it when my husband told me just how zen Ace was with being touched,…

Walking Tips?

We took Corky to the park the other day for a nice 3 mile walk. (since we were told he needed to be stimulated more) He used to be decent on walks when we would walk in a group. But the other day he was constantly barking at EVERYTHING. Other people, dogs, children, or just at nothing. He pulled and ran at full speed from the left to the right. And if there was a dog a few feet ahead of us he would whine a lot. (which someone said was a herding trait) And after the walk he was still just as…

Anxiety, cars...this is new

Good Morning MyCorgi~

My little man Reed seems to be reverting back to his ever so shy and skittish self the past couple of weeks. Let me preface this by stating when I adopted Reed in June of 2011 at 11 months, he was most certainly not the most socialize dog. He was very shy and sudden movements made him run for cover.  Over the first 6 months in my care he really started to gain the confidence I so wanted for him. We spend afternoons at the dog park, he is better with strangers in…

The Power of the Corgi

So at the end of January I went on vacation to Antarctica (sadly, Bertie and Ethel had to stay home, at the local Animal Retreat and Canine Sports Center where they had two play breaks and a snacktivity every day...Judging from Ethel's disappearing waist, the snacktivity was a major hit).  The crossing of the Drake Passage between South America and Antarctica involved a Force 9 storm and major seasickness (such that I seriously considered throwing myself overboard, but since I couldn't…
