How Do You Train Your Dog to Get Out in a Fire?

So I'm sitting outside on the back porch working on some stuff for one of the graphic designers, a little project that goes on and on and on and.... The house's doors are closed, because it's warm and the AC is on. I hear a beeping noise. An insistent beeping noise.

The neighbor has a truck that beeps like that. Beep beep beep freaking BEEP. It takes awhile before I realize whatever the racket is, it's not the dude's accursed truck. So I get up to investigate and lo! The house…

Lucy & Back Issue

It's tough to accept as she is not quite 2 years old, but Lucy is having difficulty with her hind legs, weakness that makes it nearly impossible to go up a step or even walk. Had to take her to the vet who x-rayed her, though it did not show much. Given her symptoms and how she is walking, he believes it is some kind of disk problem--it just couldn't show up on the x-ray. She is on restricted rest and some meds. I am supposed to watch for "knuckling" that will indicate a decline and then I…

Funny Pictures

Someone sent this around on that other, large social network site but I thought you all would enjoy it.  You  will have to get all the way to the end for the big pay off.

To Keep Him a Stud or to Not Keep Him a Stud...

That is the question!

My male Corgi, at 8 months old, is already acting pretty stud-like. I eventually wanted to get a puppy out of him so I have one of his offspring. BUT he has a tendency to mark his territory... in the house too. And when around some female dogs he gets all giddy and excited. He listens well, and is such a love bug but...

Should I just go ahead and do myself a favor and get him neutered?

From "Little Legs Rescue" in TN

The Info from Little Legs Rescue:

We recently took 3 Pems from a mid-TN owner/back-yard breeder. Trigger, the oldest male, was intact and turned out (“light”) HW+. He’s been at our vet’s office in Greeneville, TN since we got him: has been vaccinated, neutered and had his HW treatment. He seemed to have a bad reaction to the HW treatment (swelling). On Thursday 5/12 he was in lot of pain and as of Friday 5/13, he is down in the rear and x-rays revealed a ruptured disk at T11…

Team Low Rider did a great job!

The Paws in the Park Fund-raiser was this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day!

This is just a part of our team. We had 21 registered team members, of which I found about 15. The corgis got along great and we got a lot of attention! Most of us walked the full 2.5 miles, and the doggies slept really well that night.…

Corgi ownership if the owner is wheelchair bound

good friends of mine are getting a 6 month old female Pem today. One of the owners is wheelchair bound sometimes with a respirator. Long time Corgi fans, and previous Corgi owner, but he was healthier then.

I wonder is it okay to spray bitter Apple on the outside of plastic medical tubes so the dog will not chew on it?

I am excited for them because I know how much Rusty, now Chloe have enriched my life.

Any thoughts?

Love new life jackets.

Got new life jackets for the boys this season. They came from Petsmart and are by Outward Hound. The medium fits my 28lb corgi and my 31lb corgi. They have a neoprene band with velcro that goes under the chest and abdomen, and nice safety release snaps. they allow freedom for swimming. They don't interfere with boy parts, so they can potty without interferance. They have a clip for a leash, so you don't need to get lake smell on their collars. They… Continue

Free At Last

So we went out to do some arrends and we left little Thiago lose in the house. He will be 8 months old in 5 days. Fingers crossed when we got back, and everything was in its place. No chewed objects and no pee or poop anywhere! He doesnt ever chew on wires or things but it would be just our luck that the first time we dont put him in his crate when we're out he'd chew on the lamp wire or something, so we unplugged what ever he could get his snout on. He has been so great with getting trained, i… Continue

Nice to meet fellow MyCorgi.com members

George and Rosie went to Bark in the Park and we met some other MyCorgi members and their sweet corgis. We really had a lot of fun even though the weather was really warm.
