Ever since Sky was a 12 week old puppy, I have kept bells hanging on the door leading to outside so he could tell me when he needed to go potty. This worked well for us at the time. I was living in an apartment on the third floor (why I ever thought it was a good idea to have an Aussie puppy in an apartment is a whole other story!) and the bells were an excellent way for him to tell me he needed to go out even when I couldn't see the front door. Lyla took her herding instinct test today and passed with flying colors! It was the first one I'd ever been to and it was very interesting. It was neat to watch the different dogs' reactions to the sheep. Some dogs were more interested in the sheep poo, and others walked in and knew exactly what to do.

I just signed Lyla up for her herding instinct test! It is Sunday afternoon. I'm so excited! She is such a shy, timid dog a lot of the time, so I'm hoping she enjoys herding and maybe it can be a good confidence booster for her. Wish us luck!

I also finally got around to doing her AKC registration paperwork today since her reg number was required for the test. It's been sitting in my purse for almost 7 months now! Oops! I just haven't had a need for it until now. =)
