Things seem to be working themselves out quite nicely. After a lot of thinking and soul searching I decided to switch vets. I just simply wasn't comfortable with the fact that my vet didn't even know that some medicines could be fatal to my Aussie, Sky. While I did like a lot of things about our vet, and I will miss going to him, after taking Lyla to the new vet today, I know I made the right choice.

Whew! It has been a week full of painting, unpacking, and vetting. The house is coming along nicely, although there is still a lot of work to be done, and it's in that "it always looks worse before it looks better" stage right now. Lyla has been home for almost 36 hours now and "puppy boot camp" is in full swing. She is a sweet girl, and after a day of adjustment yesterday, has started to really come into her personality today. I think she is going to be a really fun one. Here are some of the things I have learned about her in the last 2 days:

Lyla comes home tomorrow! It's been a crazy week, and at times I wondered if I wasn't crazy to even think about throwing a new puppy in on top of it all, but now that it's here, I'm so excited I can't stand it!

It really is true... whatever can go wrong will! With a new pup on the way in just 10 days and an apartment that I have to be out of in 48 hours, there is a hold up at the title company on the new house. They have decided to extend closing until some date unknown when "the issues can be resolved." Unfortunately, I have no where to go until then! It's also a little hard to bring home a new puppy when there is no home to go to!

Lyla's breeder sent me some new pictures of her today. I was so happy to see how she was doing and how big she is now. Her ears have popped right up and she's starting to look like a real Corgi! The breeder said that she has an amazingly sweet and laid-back temperament. I just can't wait to bring her home. It's so hard to wait. I have decided to name my sweet little girl Lyla!!



I was talking to a friend this evening and "polling" her on what name she liked. She said she didn't like Lyla because it reminded her of Delilah which reminded her of the song by the Plain White T's that she hates. Well, her explanation backfired because I love that song!
