What would life be without pets?
Without pets, there'd be no search and rescue canines, there'd be no drug sniffers, no therapy dogs, cats, horses etc to help people. No crazy cat lady, she would just be alone and crazy.
My mom never would of realized how smart, clean and amazing rats are, if she hadn't gone to petsmart and had a women desperately trying to home a sick rat, convince my mom to hold her. That rat brought my mom so much joy and companionship, Weezy (the rat) was her baby.
My sister never would have found her horse, the horse who changed her life, gave her someone to talk to, to confide in and build confidence with.
I never would of discovered how amazing corgis were, if my aunt hadn't been showing/breeding them when I was little, I would of been stuck playing with my cousins all day, instead of the dogs haha.
To be honest, I don't think I would be the person I am today if I had never grown up around animals, If I never had a dog or cat, guinea pigs or rats. If I had never rode a horse or even stepped foot in a barn. I don't think I would of had the compassion I have, the patients I've learned to gain, the respect I've learned to have. I would of never gone to college and graduated, if it wasn't for my love and curiosity of animals and nature
.
I really feel the world would be a much colder place without animals to show us the way. Humans like to think we're number one, top of the food chain and so smart, but you don't realize just how much a cat or dog can teach you; How they can impact your life in such a way, that your life is better for it, you become a better person.
What do you think life would be like without your pet?

This really is a great post! Life without my dogs for the last 30 years would have been boring and a lot less laughter and love!
