Sorry if this sounds silly but..... do Corgis howl?

I am more curious than anything. We have had Templeton, who is a rescue and my first corgi, for about five months. He barks and I even heard him whine once when we took him camping but I was wondering if corgis are even capable of howling. Thanks!

Neither of mine quite howl, but if Jack has been very good and knows a treat is coming, he gets so happy that he runs to the treat jar yodeling "A-roo-roooo-rooo." Sometimes he does that for his breakfast too, but never for supper. I think it has to do with the fact that he knows that as soon as the first person comes down in the morning, he gets fed and so is happily anticipating the event, while supper is a little more random.

Izzy lets out a cute happy little howl occasionally but Sparty never does.

Gwynnie does a most annoying, grating warning howl at intruders. Al does a most endearing yowl; he knows we like it, so he does it when soliciting attention: downward-dog pose, then lifts his snout, yowls, voice softly cracking an octave, almost a true yodel. Mostly silent, they have a wide repertoire of very interesting, talky sounds.
But mostly they communicate by email.

Soren wants everyone we meet on walks to stop and pet him. In San Francisco, people are generally pretty willing to do that. But, lately, if he sees someone that he wants to pet him, and they don't stop and give him attention, he plants his butt on the sidewalk and howls. It's so adorable that people usually come back and pet him.

My girl corgi howls but the boy doesn't/cant. When the little girl was a baby I was curious if she would howl and played her wolf vocalizations on the laptop. After listening to wolf pup howlings for awhile she made every noise known to corgi kind in her attempts before giving one tiny, very cute howl. Now if I howl at her, she howls back. Adorable!

Thanks for the responses and video. That video of your dog howling was pretty cool Sam.

They can!! I heard Lance howl once in his 4 1/2 years though, it was pretty cool. I was out on a walk with him, when he howled, still trying to figure out why he did howl. I wish I could have gotten a video of it.
