I don't know what group to post this to so I'll just have to post a blog. A plain one until I can get pictures or video of this behavior.
Idgie likes playing with most bugs. When she does, she does the usual pounce.......barking and pawing at it till it's belly up, which I've seen dogs and cats do. The ones I've seen either proceed to eat the bug, or get bored with it since it's not moving and go on to other amusing endeavors.
Once the bug is near dead, Idgie will then (this is hard to describe, i'm finding now) starting with her head, rub herself on the bug or the general vicinity of the bug....and ends up lying on her side, pretty much with her head, ear, or neck right on top of the bug. She is very still and quiet for a moment as if she's listening to the bug. Most times she seems to make sure her ear very near the bug. She make some cute sounds sometimes too like she's talking back. Then she'll get up and paw at the bug some more, then go back down to listen. It's hilarious to watch. Hopefully I can get it on video soon.I'll probably have to just go out and get a bug o_O and I'm not too crazy about that LOL. I was wondering if anyone has seen their corgi do something like this.
