Think about letting Luigi go to daycare once or twice a week maybe, so he can spend some of his excess energy playing with other dogs (if he is social, like Bogart). Check the Facebook page of "our" daycare by putting Gone to the Dogs, Kennesaw into the search field, to see how much fun dogs can have at daycare...

My Hubby (in this pic) with Our 2 Furbabies, worked night shifts for most of Our 38 year marriage.I have to agree with the other folks here.Don't let it become too big of a deal or get stressed about it.The pup will pick up on it!Always find time for the 2 of You to spend time.No fast rules it has to be the same time as everyone else :)!

One thing I have learned over the years with dogs is, no matter how much you change your living/working habits, your dog will learn to adjust with you. Always tell him and show him how much you care for him and he will be ok.

You have to do what is right for you. You and Luigi will find a way to work it out. Biggest suggestion I can give you and probably the hardest to do...is not make a big deal out of it. Try with all you can that when you begin the work routine that you do not feel bad or sorry for him. He will pick up on your feelings and know that something is wrong and that will upset him. Be upbeat and calm.

I wish you the very best in your endeavor and a peaceful transition for both of you.
